The property

A stunning, 17th century stone-built English miner’s cottage, situated in the picturesque village of Brassington and surrounded by the glorious Peak District countryside.

This beautifully-appointed cottage is a rare example of A-frame English cruck architecture and has had particular attention to detail in its renovation.

Many of its original features are retained with a charming mix of contemporary furnishings, creating a warm and inviting romantic retreat or cosy family base.

Skilfully converted, Coachman’s Cottage is a true delight with its stone-flagged floors and many old historic features, such as the lovingly restored polished oak flooring on the staircase and landing, and an historic cheese press built into the wall.

The owners have also carefully selected original artworks and lots of interesting finds which were unearthed during the renovation, creating a holiday home of real character, style and originality.

Step into a welcoming conservatory/dining area with lots of natural light and stone-flagged floors with the comfort of underfloor heating throughout.

The two elegant bedrooms both feature the original A-frame beams and are flooded with natural light from the large skylight windows.

There’s also a luxurious, modern bathroom with walk-in-shower, ensuring guests will be delighted and rested during their stay.

This cottage boasts an open plan living space with a cosy sitting area featuring a woodburning stove and a well-equipped designer kitchen with Belfast sink.

Outside a pretty walled patio provides the perfect spot to sit and dine alfresco on the bistro-style seating.

From the doorstep of this delightful cottage you can take a short stroll to the two popular village pubs and there are numerous walks into the scenic Peak District National Park.

The tranquil setting of Carsington Water is nearby with lots of activities including, cycling, walking, watersports and a waterside restaurant, or take a leisurely bike ride along the Tissington Trail.
