The Property

A lovingly restored, traditional terraced cottage situated in the very heart of the village of Tideswell. Dating back to the 1700s, the cottage was once part of a shop, Chapmans of Tideswell, a newsagent and printing company. During WWII, the rear part of the present-day kitchen was used as a telephone exchange, hence the name of the property. Refurbished to a high standard throughout, great care has been taken to create a warm, comfortable holiday cottage in an idyllic location. Offering well equipped accommodation with two bedrooms, the property is just a short walk from the amenities of the village, including excellent old pubs, fine local eateries, intriguing curiosity shops, and an ice-cream parlour. With its central position in the heart of the Peak District National Park, and close proximity to Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House, Exchange Cottage is the perfect base for a relaxing or romantic break.

Gorgeous cosy cottage, perfectly situated. We had a wonderful break. Many thanks for all the great finishing touches, they made us feel very welcome.
Mrs Graham, Nottingham, December 2011

Exchange Cottage was ideally located centrally within Tideswell, close to all shops and amenities. Also a good base for walking and touring to other parts of the Peak District. Excellent value for money and nice welcoming touches with fresh milk left in fridge on arrival.
Miss Forman, Sleaford, September 2011

Fantastic village to stay, wonderful cottage, very comfortable and a great place to have as a base.
Mrs Newton, Ipswich, August 2011

Everything that you could possibly need was there, even down to the chocolates on the beds.
