Location: Tideswell

Buxton 9 miles.

The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Famous for its fine church dedicated to St John the Baptist, known as "The Cathedral of the Peak", the village is also noted for its well dressing and carnival wakes. There is excellent walking with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just outside the village. Mam Tor and Castleton are only a few miles away and the popular Spa town of Buxton is within a 15 minute drive. Tideswell has many fine country inns and excellent restaurants, a chemist, butchers, bakers and much more.

Previous visitors' comments about Stoneycroft:

The beautiful Peak District and the lovely village of Tideswell. Excellent local shops and good pubs.
Mr Bradshaw, Darlington, August 2010

We really enjoyed our stay at Stoneycroft. The cottage was very comfortable and nicely presented with everything we could have needed. The cottage also has a lovely private garden to relax in. The village had everything we needed right on our doorstep and was a nice place for an evening stroll.
Mrs Helliwell, Halifax, June 2010

Excellent location for exploring the Peak District and the picturesque town of Bakewell. Food in the local pub "Horse and Jockey" was very good as it was home cooked.
Mrs Walkingshaw, Bangor, March 2010

Convenient location in centre of village and near to places of interest. Cottage very cosy, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Friendly owner on hand for any problems. Would recommend.
Mrs Earl, Stone, November 2009
