There are some character beams throughout and in the sitting room of this Buxworth cottage is a lovely, warming open fire to enjoy after a day of exploration. Outside this Buxworth cottage is a rear courtyard to enjoy a morning coffee before setting out to explore the surrounding High Peak area. The small village of Buxworth has numerous footpaths to explore and the jewel in the crown is the canal basin, which is the only inland port on Britain's narrow canal system to survive intact and is a wonderful place for wildlife spotting all the year round. A little further afield is the spa town of Buxton, with the Opera House offering a wide range of different performances to enjoy. The NT property of Lyme Park is just a little further so, with the right mix of outdoor activities and historical houses, this Buxworth cottage is the perfect spot to enjoy all year round!

Buxworth is a pretty little village on the borders of North West Derbyshire and Cheshire, an area known as the High Peak, near the Derbyshire Peak District. Buxworth leads towards the lovely Bugsworth Basin, which is home to the canal with tow path, a cycle path, and there is also a wonderful village pub. Some excellent walks and cycle trails are on the doorstep, and close by is the town of New Mills with the Torrs Riverside Park - a place for recreation and relaxation. The Torrs Millennium Walkway, a much-admired bridge, is set deep in the gorge and attracts many visitors, while Chapel-en-le-Frith, known as the Capital of the Peak, is only a short drive away, boasting a cobbled market place and historic old stocks. Within easy driving distance is the delightful spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world. Within easy driving distance are the Blue John Cavern show caves at Castleton, the Chestnut Conservation Centre, and many stately homes, such as Chatsworth House and NT Lyme Park. The perfect place for exploring the whole of the Peak District.
