The village pub can be found in the centre of Combs, where you can sit on the terrace and enjoy a meal. Chapel en le Frith, the Capital of the Peaks, is only two miles away, with its cobbled market place and historic old stocks. Just eight miles away lies the spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavillion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world. A short drive away are an abundance of attractions including the Blue John show caves at Castleton, the nearby owl and otter sanctuary, and many stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Lyme Hall. Combs village is perfect for relaxing, and is also ideally situated for exploring the whole of the Peak District.

A charming wing of the owner's 19th Century stone built farmhouse in the heart of the tiny village of Combs, 8 miles from Buxton. Set on a working farm, this lovely property is bright and sunny and retains many original features that add to its character. The delightful stone floored kitchen is well equipped, whilst the traditional-style sitting room boasts an inviting open fire for the winter months. An ideal setting close to the village pub, with views across the rolling hillside, a pretty, well established garden and an early morning wake up call from the resident cockerel makes Jessie's Cottage a real rural delight! A great location for touring the National Park, walking or simply relaxing and enjoying the sights and sounds of this pretty area.

Very warm welcome at the cottage and the owners were friendly and helpful at all times. Excellent area for walking and there is a good pub round the corner.
