The attractive village of Hathersage (‘Heathers Edge’) is situated within the Peak District National Park at the beginning of the Hope Valley and close to excellent walking at Edale. Many visitors come to Hathersage to visit the churchyard and the grave of “Little John” (of Robin Hood fame) - whether he ever really existed is for you to decide! Charlotte Bronte’s famous novel Jane Eyre is thought to have been inspired by her visit to Hathersage vicarage in 1845. For a village of its size there is a very good selection of shops, pubs and places to eat, as well as a public, open air heated swimming pool and railway station. A great centre for exploring the Peak District!

Cottage character, decor, furnishings and location were better than expected!
Mr Connell, Nottingham, November 2011
The cottage was really lovely and well appointed. It was also very well situated for walks and accessing the village. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking and eating in there. It was warm and cosy. We didn't get to enjoy the garden but if returning in warmer weather it would have been lovely to eat out there. We hope to return.
Mrs Corby, Scunthorpe, November 2011
The cottage was very clean, warm and well appointed and the location was excellent. We were able to relax and feel 'at home'.
