The conservation village of Winster is situated within the Peak District National Park and is an extremely pretty place with a charming 17th Century market house at its centre and other imposing 18th Century houses, nearly all three storeys, on its three main streets - Main Street, East Bank and West Bank. Less dignified, but no less endearing, are the little alleyways or ‘ginnels’ off Main Street which are well worth exploring. The village is famous for its Morris dancers, Wakes festivities (every June) and its annual Shrove Tuesday pancake race - a fascinating spectacle! Within the village there is a well stocked grocer’s shop with a Post Office and two pubs - both serving food and local traditional beers. Bakewell, Chatsworth and Matlock are all nearby and, for keen walkers, the village lies within 5 miles of the Tissington and High Peaks walking/cycling trails and The Limestone Way.

The Property

A charming, ‘picture postcard’ stone built cottage, tucked away up a quiet ‘ginnel’ in the Peak village of Winster, and enjoying wonderful views across the village to the hills beyond. Hillside View has been carefully modernised and restored to provide very warm, comfortable and well equipped, but compact, accommodation, whilst retaining some lovely old features. An ideal base for exploring the Peak District as a whole, or for simply relaxing in a quiet village location. Note: Hillside View Cottage adjoins Little Hillside (Ref. 810) and together they can accommodate up to 7 people.

Three bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x double with access from one side only, 1 x single (small room, limited hanging space). Bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Modern, well equipped fitted kitchen. Superb sitting/dining room with feature inglenook style fireplace with logburning stove and pleasant views over Winster. Entrance porch. Note: Access to the garden is via the single bedroom.
