Fantastic week in bluebell cottage, so relaxing & the hot tub was ideal.

Ian & Jo are very friendly and welcoming. Lots to do and see and the pubs were very nice. Poppy our 10 month old puppy loved the walks Thank you

The cottage and grounds were absolutely stunning, the photos on the website do not do it justice.

The owners were so helpful. We would 100% recommend this accommodation and we’ll be back!

GEM OF A PLACE and thoughtfully appointed in every way!

The area is absolutely beautiful and the cottage is clean, airy and tastefully decorated. The pictures don't do it justice! Hot tub seems brand new and very clean. We had a wonderful stay.

We had a lovely time at Blue Bell cottage.

It is set in a great location, peaceful relaxing. The owners, Ian and Jo had thought of everything you would need. It was clean and spacious the bed was very comfy and we slept well. We used the hot tub which was easy to use. Ian and Jo were very helpful they are very good hosts. We would stay there again.

The shower was a little small but it didn’t prevent us having a great time. The hot tub was perfect and we used it daily after our trips out The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything you need for a great holiday

Slight issue last evening as no water in hot tub and although it does state about covering we wasn’t aware this should be done each time we used if but apart from that all good

It’s setting in surrounding countryside is perfect for getting away from it all. Good directions & comunication from the owners. The cottage was well equipped with everything needed. The hot tub was wonderful & well used. It was a pleasure to stay at Bluebell cottage,their visitors books attests to how many guests would like to visit again & some have even booked for a fourth visit! We’d include ourselves as potential returners as we’d like to explore this lovley area in spring/summertime.

Beautiful cottage, comfortable bed .

Issues with heating and hot tub on arrival. However host did her best to rectify this as quickly possible. The hot tub was a great size but had granule like bits on the seats. Lovely, relaxing location on a well maintained farm. Matlock, Bakewell and surrounding walks all within 20-40 minutes by car. Enjoyed our break and would recommend staying there.

Fantastic setting, lovely cottage ideal for getting out and about.

Everything you could want including hot tub which was great for relaxing after days out. Definitely recommend and come back. Only downside was slightly squeaky bed and mattress a little too hard for us but realise it’s hard to please everyone with beds. Definitely wouldn’t put us off coming back. Thank you for a great few days.

The cottage was amazing clean warm friendly welcome from the lovely owners of the property.

Everything we could possibly hope for even informed us of the best place to eat etc. We didn’t do much other than chill and relax and unwind. Its location is ideal for that and with walks within and around it’s ideal. A nice walk to the local village or pub is ideal. Everything you could wish for in a lovely environment.

The location & privacy of the holliday cottages is excellent.

The grounds & surrounding areas are well maintained & safe for dogs, & we had a lovely stay. there. The cottage is small but nicely presented, unfortunately as the kitchen is small there is no freezer in the kitchen & obviously we wasnt able to make ice cubes ,& as we had brought frozen barbecue food we had to use it after a couple of days as it had thawed out. It lacks hooks & shelves in the property to hang towels etc.

We enjoyed the nearby walks and the fabulous hot tub in the evening's. We loved the location, it was so peaceful. The cottage had everything you could possibly need. We would definitely recommend this place if you want that perfect relaxing break.

Lovely character property.

Additional freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer in the shared utility room was a bonus. Hot tub was great after a day of exploring Derbyshire.

We had an amazing stay and Jo went to great lengths to get us a travel cot for our 5 month old, which we really appreciate.

Everything was as described and beautifully decorated. Only downside was the bed was very soft and well used and the bathroom floor could have done with a sweep, as well as the shower door was broken. Otherwise amazing stay and we will come again!

We had a really lovely stay at Bluebell Cottage.

Jo stopped by often to check on the hot tub and made sure everything was okay for us. There’s loads of really lovely walks in the area and Matlock is beautiful place to visit, just a 15 min drive away from the farm.

Superb stat to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary.

Jo was very welcoming, gave us all the info we needed and just let us relax & enjoy our stay. The views, the sunrises, the sunsets and the peacefulness were just what we needed. The hot tub was a huge added bonus. We had some lovely strolls & an exceptional lunch at The Dog Pentrich. We had an excellent stay and would totally recommend Bluebell Cottage. Thank you Jo & Ian.

Bluebell Cottage is a lovely little cottage fitted with everything you need for a week away.

It was clean and well thought out. I couldn't fault a single thing. The hot tub was especially nice in the cold weather. I would recommend Bluebell Cottage to anyone wanting a wonderful place to stay in a lovely area.

This property is absolutely amazing.

It is beautiful and clean and we will definitely be returning. I do have one thing to suggest though and that is the bed is very creaky and uncomfortable so maybe look at tightening it all up and invest in a more comfortable mattress. Saying that though we will definitely be booking to come back because it truly is an amazing place to stay.

Ian was a great host.

The location was perfect. However, a couple of recommendations Mattress too soft needs replacing. Lack of cupboard space for food in kitchen Could do with additional plates and cutlery. Shower needs some attention Mold on shower tray Shower door kept coming off rail at bottom. Apart from that we had a a great stay friendly people on site.

Beautiful views, Great location, Amazing hot tub and owners were very friendly and welcoming. Only negative is the mattress wasn't comfortable. The owners supplied us with a mattress topper to take the edge off which was very kind of them!

Had a really relaxing break, despite the weather.

The covered hot tub was a blessing and was used a LOT!!! Well proportioned, clean and well provisioned accommodation in lovely surroundings. Would certainly recommend and would come back again.

Had such a lovely relaxing stay.

Made our anniversary special. The cottage itself is beautiful and love how you've kept certain things to show the age of the place. It was so cosy and comfortable and the hot tub was a nice little extra feature to help you relax. I have always been scared of sheep but staying here also helped me overcome my fear. Even had a little visit from the owners dog and all I can say is what a handsome boy. The only thing I would say needs to have a slight change is the steps to the hot tub. I would suggest a slip mat on them as the steps become quiet slippy as you get out of the hot tub.

This was our first time at Bluebell cottage It was clean and very cosy.

Lovely for a little romantic and relaxing getaway. The hot tub was the main reason we booked this cottage and we absolutely loved it. 10/10 all round!

New mattress and larger sofa

The cottage was everything we were hoping for.

It was clean, equipped, cozy and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Great for a little romantic and relaxing getaway. One tiny bit of criticism is, there was no cheese grater, which made a funny task of trying to finely dice cheese. Overall, I would give Bluebell Cottage a 10/10 and would highly recommend it to anyone.

An amazing stay!

! Beautiful cottage with all the facilities we needed to enjoy homemade dinners after soaking in the hot tub post-hikes. Owners were very responsive and helpful. Very good location for seeing the Peak District.

We had another wonderful stay this time in Bluebell Cottage ( Last time in Woodland Lodge) only upgrade it could do with is a better mattress and New longer sofa but all these upgrades take time when you have 3 properties to maintain Joanne & Ian looked after us very well it was a pleasure to be there nothing was too much trouble looking forward to our next stay Thankyou xx

Such a beautiful place with beautiful views and the owners were so lovely.

The only thing that failed the stay was the old thin spring mattress. The bed needs to be comfy when staying away and was such a disappointment. Other than that was brilliant. There is a workshop right next to the bedroom which woke us up early and there is also a train that passes every 6 minutes that stops at 11ish and starts at 5am ish. But once again still a beautiful place and the hot tub was the best I’ve stayed.

Great location for walkers

The cottage was so amazing we had a great time.

Especially likes the fairy lights above the hot tub, made it feel more relaxing. Views around the cottage were exceptional, such a nice area. And the Owners, Ian & Jo, were the perfect hosts. nothing too much trouble for them before and during our stay. Would definitely recommend.

The hot tub was just fabulous after one of the many walks around the area or visits to the historic sites and villages. Will be putting it on my list to book again in the future, thank you for a wonderful week.

If you’re looking for a peaceful break you won’t be disappointed.

The cottage is lovely and private with very good facilities.

The hot tub is sheltered with a nice wooden roof and a wall making it very private and still lovely to use in the rain. The cottage and the outside is particularly dog friendly: with an outside warm water tap, secure gates and even a dog waste bin. The area also worth exploring with lots of country walks and nearby little towns. Had we found “the Bluebell cottage welcome book” with all its useful information sooner rather than on the very last day of our stay ( it was trucked away in the basket on the floor) we would have explored the area even more! Overall highly recommended.

The cottage was beautiful and very well maintained.

The furniture was also high standard with all possible extras like file of places to eat and DVDs in the draw. The kitchen was well equipped and everything was easy to find and use. Would go again, it was private and we took our dog who settled straight away. We also had the luxury of leaving the door open with the added peace of mind that he couldn't get out. P.s We didnt use the grill but i did clean it anyway!

We had a lovely weeks holiday at Bluebell cottage.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and very well equipped, and the surrounding area was amazing and very peaceful. As for the hot tub well what can I say it was very relaxing and a bonus. The owners were very nice people always available if you needed anything and payed great attention to adding cleaner to the hot tub on a regular basis. It was such a lovely relaxing week and went too fast. My little border terrier sulked for a day when we got home because he loved the walks from the cottage.

This was a beautiful cottage lovely and clean.

.bed very comfortable and the hot tub was very welcoming after a day out walking. The only negative was that there were no windows in the bedroom which could open so the room was very hot, the windows were all fixed so no openings. Lovely walks all around, and there was a lovely picnic area and bbq area adjoining the cottages

Absolutely fantastic stay, the cottage was extremely clean, the kitchen well stocked, large TV in the living room, very comfortable bed, the central heating in the cottage was fantastic so we were never cold and the hot tub was clean with fairy lights above it for when you’re in there at night.

The grounds the cottage was on was large and beautiful, we only saw our hosts when checking in but they were friendly and welcoming. We had a fantastic time and are hoping to return again in the future!

The farm is absolutely beautiful and the cottage is wonderful, the pictures don’t do it justice. Ian was so welcoming, friendly and always helpful, all the extra little touches were great and made our stay even better, would 100% recommend. Looking forward to visiting again.

We could not find B6013 of A38 .

We asked a lot of people were Shaw Wood Drive was but no one could tell us (taxi drivers had not heard of it locals had no idea) .We eventually went into the library, they still could not tells us, a elderly couple overheard our conversation and said it might be Shaw Wood Farm, after one and a half hours of searching for Shaw Wood Drive we finally got there ,were nearly ready to give in and just go home,

The property has been fairly recently renovated to a comfortable degree.

The owners are friendly and helpful who maintain the gardens, lawns and driveway well. Car parking is well catered for and the large barbeque area is clean and tidy. This is our second visit to the property and are happy to recommend it to couples who like the quiet life.

It was well located, clean and tidy and situated in lovely surroundings. We went on lovely walks nearby and visited local attractions. Particularly enjoyed our visit to Criche Tramway Museum, it brought back many memories of bygone times. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the cottage and the scenery set in a great land scape love living in the country side as iam from a farm in Doncaster and love quietness me and my wife really enjoyed the stay and Joanne and Ian the owners were really friendly guys we will be booking again no problem at all

We had an absolutely magical time at Bluebell Cottage!

It is super private and they'd thought of everything as far as extension cables near mirrors and hooks for towels by the hot tub! There's a lovely short walk to a near by pub also called The Bluebell and they do fabulous food.

We enjoyed our 4-night stay at Bluebell Cottage.

Our host was welcoming and helpful, but not intrusive. The ‘welcome folder’ was nice to read through, to find out a bit more about the property and hosts. The bed was very comfortable and the private hot tub was a lovely bonus of the property. We visited Tilly Pots (Nottingham), Heights of Abraham (Matlock) and Matlock Farm Park while staying at Bluebell Cottage. It was good to be close to various local attractions, with shops, petrol stations and plenty of walking routes nearby too. We weren’t aware the property was located so close to an active train line. Thankfully it wasn’t too much of an issue for us, however we think it is something to be aware of, as it could have an impact on your stay eg if staying with a small child or a nervous dog, as you can hear the frequent trains from inside the property. We felt the property could benefit from a small freezer space in the fridge of the property, rather than a communal one (personally we wouldn’t use a communal one). As some of the other reviews have mentioned, a footstool and a slightly bigger sofa would be nice just to make it a bit more homely and comfortable to relax in the evenings. The majority of the property was well kept, however we felt there could have been more attention to detail with regards to the cleaning ahead of our stay.

The cottage is almost perfect, it's is very clean and everything needed is supplied.

The hot tub was a lovely added bonus and the hosts checked it every day. The location is perfect to visit the Peak District. The only thing we would change is the sofa as we thought it was not very comfy. Ian and Jo were great hosts

We chose this cottage for a midweek get-away to celebrate my wife's birthday and it always perfect.

The décor and furnishings were top quality, the kitchen ideal the bed extremely comfortable and the hot tub was immaculate. We would definitely go back to stay in one of the cottages on this place. The vendor was also very friendly and available. 5 stars in our book, thank you Jo and Ian.

it is well located for the countryside walks and a not so long distance to the town of alfreton also. the cottage was really warm and cosy and we loved and made most of the hot tub each night.

A fantastic and much needed little get away!

! Ian and Jo have done an amazing job with these holiday lets. Full of character and set in a beautiful location even if the postcosde is a little misleading on sat nav - we did manage to get there via the written instructions on the booking email though. The little folder showing the history of the property is a lovely touch too. The cover and fairy lights above the hot tub made it even more perfect even though the weather wasn’t. Only thing I’d change is the sofa. A bit small to relax on properly, maybe a footstool could help with this but apart from that, the perfect, relaxing little get away. You have an amzing place, thank you for a great stay. Look forward to staying again :)

It was just beautiful, in stunning settings with fantastic amenities. Especially the hot tub!! The cottage itself was warm and cosy. Great location !! Definitely recommend and hope to return in the summer.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location, with lots of lovely walks from the doorstep.

Ian & Jo were excellent hosts and made us very welcome. They have done a wonderful job in turning these barns into beautiful holiday cottages. We had never used a hot tub before and was pleasantly surprised that it was all completely ready for us to use and we didn't need to do a thing. It was wonderful to relax in the hot water underneath the pretty fairy lights. I also enjoyed sitting on the private patio which got plenty of sun (even in late September), and the shared lawn area is also a really lovely place to take your tea/coffee and enjoy the outdoors. My husband also enjoyed watching the trains go by.

We spent 5 weeks at Bluebell Cottage - we were between homes!

The cottage is lovely, well equipped, clean and with a great hot tub which we used every day. The BBQ area was fab and perfectly set up for al fresco dining. The surrounding countryside is spectacular and there are lots of lovely villages to visit. However, the very best thing about staying at Bluebell Cottage is the owners, Jo and Ian, who are absolutely lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, they are warm and friendly and really want their guests to have a good time. They were particularly helpful at a stressful time for us and we will always appreciate that. There is nowhere else that we would stay if visiting Derbyshire and would highly recommend.

Just what was needed working for the NHS a well earned little break and it didn't disappoint.

Owners lovely so accommodating such a lovely place its a must visit.
