Our hosts were wonderful in every way. The cottage was well maintained with plenty of facilities for adults, for example three washing facilities, so helpful with a large group, and children, who enjoyed the farm animals, the bouncy castle and TV in every room! - a nice outdoor patio for when the sun was shining. Woods and moors opposite; near to Sheffield and also near countryside and well known attractions. A great holiday.
Ladybower 4 miles; Hathersage 6 miles.
Hollow Meadows is a small hamlet situated just 4 miles from Ladybower Reservoir in the lovely Peak District National Park and the famous Snake Pass. The Rivelin Valley stretches for nearly 4 miles from the outskirts of Sheffield through the Peak District National Park, towards the Hope Valley and Edale. Nearly 700 lime trees line the valley, making it the second longest lime tree avenue in Britain. Hollow Meadows holds a scattering of smallholdings, farms and dwellings and is ideal for exploring many bridleways and footpaths. Nearby are the impressive dam at Ladybower, used by the 'Dambuster' squadron to practise for their raid on the Ruhr Dams in 1945, and Hathersage, believed to have inspired Charlotte Bronte to write Jane Eyre. Edale, the start of the Pennine Way, and Sheffield, with its attractions and exciting nightlife, are a short drive away.

Swimming pool, accommodation, play area with bouncy castle, swing, slide and lots of toys to use for the grandkids. Good safety aspect. Quiet location and nice to be next to a working farm. Owners very friendly and helpful.
Mr Donovan, Blackpool, July 2010
Excellent property, very clean, well furnished and comfortable. Easy access to all Peak District activities. Would recommend as a good base for families. Friendly host, kids enjoyed the pool after long days walking.
Mrs Scott, Eye, October 2009
The rural setting and close proximity to many places of interest. The friendly owners who made us all very welcome especially the younger members of our party, the fantastic swimming pool and bouncy castle and other outside toys as well as a comprehensive selection of boardgames for wet days. We were also very pleased with the welcome pack of basic supplies as the grocery order we had made online did not arrive. One of the best self catering cottages we have stayed in
Mr Page, New Malden, June 2009
The family were very pleasant and helpful, even put up a bouncy castle for all the children and it was nice being on a farm - feeding lambs etc. We particularly enjoyed the pool which was warm and clean. A convenient location for dry days and wet days - a great holiday.
