  • "Saddlers Cottage is a beautiful cottage which is very clean, comfortable and well maintained."

Lots of thought has been put into the facilities and all of our needs were catered for. For example small but essential items such as washing machine and dishwasher tablets. The owners gave us lots of information prior to our arrival and we were pleased to receive a lovely welcome pack. The cottage is perfectly located within central Wirksworth and represented excellent value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Thank you so much for this lovely feedback. We do aim for our guests to have the best of times at Saddlers Cottage in a Market town that we love, and so it’s great to hear such appreciation. We look forward to welcoming you back again to further explore the wonderful Derbyshire Dales and High Peak. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, in good location for walking to shops and restaurants."

Everything was provided that we needed to make our stay comfortable, lots of lovely throws and cushions and everything we needed in the kitchen. Beds were comfortable and had lots of wardrobe space and drawers for clothes. The owners contacted us before we arrived with information and a phone number for if we needed them, but as it happens, we didn’t need to contact them. There were a couple of nights that it was a bit noisy outside with people going by and chatting or getting in their cars presumably from being out in the pubs. Overall though we had a very pleasant stay.

Many thanks for your positive feedback and that you enjoyed your stay at Saddlers Cottage. Warm regards Mark and Kathryn. Property Owner

  • "We loved this property!"

Visiting Saddlers Cottage was our first holiday with the puppy and I couldn’t fault the accommodation. Lots of blankets to cover the sofas if needed, doggy treats on arrival and the cottage had a lovely homely feeling from the minute we walked in. Although this property is dog friendly there was no trace of previous dogs being there. The cottage was SPOTLESS. I’m terms of location Sadlers Cottage was perfect! A short walk to a pub, local shop, restaurants and cafes. Wirksworth was a lovely place to stay with plenty going on, even mid week. I would definitely book again!

Many thanks for your lovely positive feedback. We love it when guests enjoy the cottage and town of Wirksworth as much as we do. So glad you had a good time. Please do come again, we love to welcome returning guests. Warm regard Mark and Kathryn. Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this beautifully decorated character cottage."

A generous welcome pack was provided and on-street parking was readily available. We were also grateful for the logs and kindling for the wood burner. Perhaps the only thing that detracted was the slight aroma of damp dog in the lounge.

Hi Many thanks for your helpful feedback and please accept our apologies if the lounge was not as fresh as you would have liked. We do accept pets and this is the first time that anyone has not been 100% happy with the freshness of this 300yr old character cottage. We will of course pass on your comments to the clean team to focus on keeping standards high. Property Owner

Cottage very comfortable, beautifully decorated with everything we could need for our three night stay. A thoughtful welcome pack and a bottle of prosecco with glasses on the table to greet us! Lovely touch! Parking not always available at the front of the cottage but we purchased a Derbyshire Dales Rover Pass for £10.90 which covered all our parking across the Peak District for our 3 day stay (Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne…) and overnight behind the cottage at Barmote Croft car park. The owners contacted us to say we could have the cottage earlier than 3pm to make the most of our stay as it was ready. We can thoroughly recommend Saddler’s Cottage!
