Steeped in history and situated at the southern end of the Peak District, the lovely village of Hollington provides home to a scattering of traditional stone built cottages, old farmhouses and barn conversions, whilst being surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside and offering a selection of country pubs renowned locally for excellent service and fine cuisine. Nearby Ashbourne is the perfect example of an English market town, boasting an eccentric street plan, narrow, cobbled alleys, old market stalls and many fine coaching inns. From Hollington there are lots of lovely villages to explore, and walks to enjoy, there is the pretty River Dove, as well as Calwich and Croxden Abbeys to visit, while Denstone, with its farm shop, is wonderful for picking up some fresh local produce. With Uttoxeter Racecourse and Alton Towers within very easy reach, this is a lovely village for a holiday.
