Set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent and surrounded by wooded hills and cliffs, the village of Cromford lies just 1 mile from the vibrant spa town of Matlock Bath, 3 miles from Matlock. Famous for its connections with Sir Richard Arkwright and the cotton trade, and often referred to as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, today Cromford offers a selection of pubs and shops, as well as Arkwright’s Cromford Mill, a world heritage site. The area boasts a plethora of attractions such as Gulliver's Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and splendid Chatsworth House. Visitors can take a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car and take in the views in style, whilst the more active are catered for with plentiful walking around the Derwent Valley and the White Peak, and with cycling opportunities at Carsington Water and the High Peak Cycle Trail.

This absolute delight of a traditional, terraced, Grade II listed cottage is located in the fascinating village of Cromford, close to Matlock in Derbyshire. Beautiful throughout with plenty of character, including wooden floors, beams, open stonework and a lovely little staircase, this Cromford cottage is perfect for couples or small families looking to soak up some history whilst exploring the wonderful Peak District. Built in the 1700s for the mill workers of the famous Arkwright’s Mills, you will find in a cosy sitting room which is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the area. This Cromford holiday home also has a fitted kitchen, a bathroom and two double bedrooms, one of which is on the second floor. Outside this Cromford cottage is a lovely enclosed patio area with furniture, where you can enjoy a cold drink on a sunny Peak District evening. The attractive village of Cromford is a short drive from Bakewell and the fabulous Chatsworth House, making this Peak District cottage an ideal base from which to explore the region's attractions. Cromford and Masson Mills are within walking distance, and within easy travelling distance are Gulliver’s Kingdom and Carsington Reservoir with its sailing centre.
