  • "There is always a tension between finding a gem like Balvaig and wanting to sing its praises, but also wanting to keep the treasure hidden for yourself."

Balvaig really is utter perfection! We cannot wait to stay again.

This time enjoying the glorious autumn palette of the surrounding countryside. Balvaig really is a very special place!

  • "An extremely well equipped and spacious home in a stunning location."

The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. Unfortunately the weather didn't permit full use of the garden which would have been a bonus. Very conveniently situated for Pitlochry which we walked into several times. One minor suggestion, a small mirror for shaving close to the basin in the two main bathrooms. We would thoroughly recommend Balvaig. We had a great week.

Beautifully designed, stylishly furnished, amd with everything you could possibly want, including enormous fluffy towels. The kitchen was better equipped than our own at home. The fantastic view and a shady garden to lounge in on a hot afternoon provide the house with a magical setting.

We were joined by our son and daughter and their partners and our baby granddaughter. There was lots of space for us all in this luxurious, bright and spacious property. Beautifully presented and maintained gardens and outdoor space was great as we hit lucky with lots of sunny weather. Couldn’t speak too highly of this property and the owner who provided lots of useful advice and responded immediately to resolve one tiny issue we had.

We were not disappointed. A great week of walking and enjoying the delights of Pitlochry and surrounding area. The house has lost none of its charm and elegance. Fabulous views from the lounge that just tempt you to sit and enjoy, beautifully furnished, very well equipped kitchen and large comfortable bedrooms. A few cold evenings meant we could enjoy the log burner, wonderful. The Moulin Inn is a short walk away. Wonderful week and I have a feeling we may well visit again next year if available.

Alternatively, there are plenty of options in to eat out in Pitlochry (5 minutes in the car or a half-hour walk along a footpath). In terms of the outdoors, there are plenty of walks from the cottage, or a short drive away; it is an excellent base.

The owner contacted us prior to our arrival date to offer any advice / assistance we may require and could not have been more helpful. The property itself is even better than the photos suggest. Absolutely stunning, beautifully furnished and immaculate. The views from every window are a complete joy, changing with the ever changing weather and we could have quite happily sat in the garden or the amazing lounge and just enjoyed the property but we were there to enjoy the great walks in the area, but what a fabulous property to return to. We enjoyed every minute of an all too short week at Balvaig and would dearly love to return.
