One of the Hillfoots Villages, so named because they lie in a line along the foot of the spectacular Ochil Hills, there are records of the estate of Tillicoultry dating from the 13th century. The town has an array of amenities including shops, a Post Office, takeaways, bars and a tea room. There is superb walking in the Ochil Hills and the scenic Devon Way passes close by, offering excellent walking and cycling. For golfers, there are an array of local courses. The nearby village of Dollar offers the steep walk to the spectacularly-located Castle Campbell, where Mary Queen of Scots once lived.
