Kinross 7 miles.
Glenfarg village sits at the southern end of a picturesque and narrow glen. Its sheltered position ensures that Glenfarg benefits from a mild climate all year round. A short drive will take you to Kinross and Loch Leven. Bounded by hills, Kinross enjoys a stunning setting at Perthshire's southern border as it nestles on the shores of Loch Leven, which lies beneath the shadow of the Lomond Hills, and is the largest loch in lowland Scotland and one of the most important sites for waterfowl in Britain. A National Nature Reserve since 1964, its position, size, shallowness, richness and variety of habitats provide a unique environment that attracts not only the largest concentration of breeding ducks found anywhere in the UK, but many thousands of migratory ducks, geese and swans every autumn and winter. Loch Leven is also famous for its fishing of brown trout. Not to be missed is a visit to the ruined fourteenth-century Loch Leven Castle, open between April and September, where Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567. Her dramatic escape by boat is one of Scotland's most romantic tales.

Previous visitors' comments about Candy West Cottage:
We enjoyed a trip to Loch Leven and a boat trip across to the island. The cottage was well equipped.
