  • "Last week we had a wonderful holiday in Muir Losal near Blairgowrie in North Perthshire."

The cottage had easy access from the adjoining road allowing parking next to the gate into an enclosed area for the dogs in front of the cottage. The cottage had everything a family would need to have a relaxing time in the countryside, either walking, reading, watching television or eating after cooking in the kitchen area that had everything anyone would need. It has three beautiful bedrooms and nobody could ask for a more quiet location with stars in the sky about four miles from Blairgowrie. During the day we visited some marvellous towns and beaches and all the people who live in this part of Scotland talked to ourselves and our three border terriers. The places we enjoyed to visit the most were the walked along the River Ericht to Cargills Leap in Blairgowrie, St Andrews Beach, Golf Course and Town Centre, the Cafes, Shops and the River Tummel Fish Ladder in Pitlochry, the fantastic drive into the Cairngorm Mountains to Braemar and Balmoral where unfortunately the Queen died in 2022 and the beaches along the River Tay to the seaside town and golf links in Carnoustie.

I thought 2 week was enough but it obviously wasn't. there's plenty of walks nearby and places to see. Only downside was beds they were a bit firm that took a bit of adjusting but wasn't a major issue.

  • "This is a lovely house with lots of space and large comfortable beds."

There is a family room upstairs where a small single bed can be made up for a child if requested. All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities - a boon when you have a full house and small children. The owners are attentive, but not intrusive and all the basic needs are supplied, including milk, human and dog biscuits. The house has a small playpark adjacent with a slide and a range of swings which were much appreciated by the children. The farm has a range of animals, including wallabies, goats, reindeer and donkeys, which were also much enjoyed by the children and a welcome distraction for an outdoor wander. The location is quite central with easy access to many places of interest to visit, from Pitlochry and Dunkeld to Dundee and east to Glamis, Forfar and the coast.

  • "Can't say enough about this place."

It really was a perfect little spot and in the summer I can imagine it being even more amazing. We were lucky with our weather for October. I stayed with my mother, father, partner and my two children 10yrs and 13yrs. The cottage we stayed in looked out on to a massive field with the wee playpark across from us so we could view the kids out playing whilst we sat in the house. We could hear the birds of prey in the trees and we watched as one sat on the fence whilst a stoat tried to leap at it very surreal. Theyr is many rabbits around as well. The cottage was spotless, could not fault anything at all. Exactly the condition I expected. Loved the fact they have recycling. I been to a lot of places and been disappointed to find there was no recycling. So this was a big tick for me that they are doing this in that area. Cottage is only 10mins drive from Blairgowrie which we ventured to a number of times for Tesco and also the local swimming and walks around the area. Cargils Leap was a lovely walk from the carpark at Ericht Carpark takes you over the bridge at the Mill or park in Riverside Carpark. We ventured to St Andrews, Dundee, Alyth very small town. Pitlochery, Dunkeld, and Ossians Place just 10mins from Dunkeld for spectacular surprise waterfall! Stunning! We were invited by Ailene and Stewart to join a morning farm visit. It was absolutely fantastic to meet all these beautiful rare breed animals and the love Ailene has for them was clear to see. She was so knowledgeable and was keen to answer all our questions. Probably questions she gets asked every day but still showed so much passion in answering them. Would definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family and would happily return again myself with my family.

The travel cot (Complete with beautiful bedding) was new and they even provided a stair gate (without us requesting it) which was a godsend. The property is very spacious inside and out and in a good location to explore the wider area from. We spent an hour with the owner meeting the rare and lovely donkeys, llamas, goats, ducks, chickens and even meerkats. The outside play equipment is ideal for little ones and our grandson loved the tree house and slide. The best cottage we have ever stayed in.

The cottage is located in the countryside on a farm with numerous farm animals housed next to the cottage which you are able to go and see. It has great views and offers opportunities to see all sorts of wildlife and birds, which included us seeing a massive Canadian Geese migration early one morning, deers, red squirrels, rabbits and we also had a very close encounter with a huge Stag on a drive back from Balmoral in the dark! We were greeted with a very warm welcome from Aileen and milk, tea, coffee and a large hamper of goodies which went down very well after a long drive up. The red sandstone town of Blairgowrie is situated on the bank of the river Ericht, where it emerges from spectacular gorges in Strathmore. With good shops, great restaurants and coffee bars, it makes an excellent town to start exploring Perthshire and the beautiful Angus Glens. Surrounded by rolling fields, famed for their berries, the town is overlooked by hills and mountains, and is the main link to Scotlands largest ski centre at Glenshee. The surrounding countryside is the perfect terrain for horse riding, cycling, mountain biking and hill walking, whilst golfers are well-catered for with several excellent courses (including Rosemount) locally. Gleneagles and championship courses of Carnoustie and St Andrews are also within easy reach.
