Location: Kirriemuir

Dundee 18 miles.

Kirriemuir is a lovely red sandstone town in the valley of Strathmore, regarded as the gateway to the Angus Glens, which offer some of Scotland's most unspoiled landscape. The town is home to the birthplace of novelist JM Barrie, creator of the much-loved children's character Peter Pan and the house is now a museum looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. A statue of Peter Pan can be found in the town. Kirriemuir also offers an Aviation Museum, Glamis Castle and the historic Pictish Stones at Meigle, while the Angus Glens offer great hill walking and climbing. With a fine variety of shops, hotels and pubs in the town and surrounding area, there is something here to suit all tastes.

Previous visitors' comments about Nantusi Cottage:

The peace and quiet and because the weather was so good we were sitting in the garden enjoying the surroundings for a week, the swimming pool was also excellent.
Mr Rankin, Helensburgh, June 2011

Nice cottage, with friendly owners in an area with lots to do if you enjoy the countryside, bird watching. Bonus that the cottage had a pool.
Miss Farrant, Ottery St. Mary, February 2011

The cottage was well-presented and conveniently located for everything that we planned to do in the area. It was also a lovely quiet location and the owner was welcoming and helpful.
Miss Ogilvy, Crewe, October 2010

We received a friendly welcome - even though we arrived later than planned. We found everything we needed and it was all easy and convenient to use. The cottage was superb - a great base for a holiday in the Cairngorms. Many thanks.
