  • "Hi, thank you for a lovely stay."

The property was clean and comfortable and ideally situated in a very quiet rural location. Excellent heating system, which we actually had to turn down!

  • "We had a great stay in the Olde Cow Shed, the wine, chocolates and homemade cake on arrival were a lovely touch."

My daughter said it was the nicest cake she'd ever had! The property was bigger than I was expecting, lots of room for just the 3 of us and lots of outdoor space too, with the added bonus of the hot tub. The property was spotless and had everything we needed. It was great location for a Shropshire base, we visited Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Iron Bridge and Oswestry...all beautiful places. I would definately recommned staying here to anyone.

  • "There were 4 adults in our party, which despite this accommodation not being very spacious on the ground floor, only presented an issue in the kitchen, where 2 was pretty much the limit."

Everywhere was very clean and well equipped. It was nice having a games room where we played table tennis (the table badly need a new net), pool (50p per play), and table air hockey (the table is very tired). I recommend taking your own table tennis equipment though, as the supplied equipment was extremely basic. The hot tub was great, but for some reason would not allow us to set a temperature over 37 degrees, but as the weather was sunny during our stay, wasn't an issue. There really isn't an views from the property, unless you look over the roofs from the 1st floor, as it is surrounded by large farm buildings. But if it is peace and quiet you seek, you'll get it here.

  • "Lovely property, great area."

Well equipped and nice touches, eg. cake, wine, chocolate. Spotless on arrival, everything working as it should. Only slight minus was the lack of a smart TV but we borrowed some DVDs from the games room. Had a lovely stay, would recommend.

  • "The cottage was clean, comfortable, spacious and had a well equipped kitchen."

Dishwasher tablets were provided by the owner and there were plenty of them for our weeks stay. There was also a large Games room on site which we used once during our stay. You will need 50p's to use the pool table. The cottage is in a very peaceful location. There are other cottages available on the same site which would be useful if booking a family get together.

The accommodation was wonderful. It was well designed, spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean and the location perfect. We had a lovely time walking in the hills and the local area. To come home to a soak in a hot tub to ease aching muscles was the icing on cake. It was all absolutely perfect and we would really like to visit again!!

So clean and lovely accommodation. Made perfect with the shared games room (note to others take 50p lots of them to play pool) and then topped with the cherry on top of the cake that they now have a hot tub! Honestly just what we needed lovely and quiet nice relaxed time away. Thankyou so so much

  • "The Old Cowshed was a lovely cottage, everything we hoped for, accept for one thing, very disappointed in the fact that if there are a lot of young adults staying in the adjoining cottage, " Turnip Cottage " who have no thought for other people, they were partying to 3 in the morning, which would cause me to never recommend this cottage to anyone, as i noticed from the visitor book, this was not the first time someone has experienced the same problem, so either the owners of the cottages or Sykes Holidays have taken no notice of the comments before and put a warning that this can happen."

Ruined the weekend away for both my wife and myself. Such a shame because somebody has work hard to provide very good quality cottages. I have used Sykes Holiday Cottages many times to book cottages and have always been pleased with the cottages we have booked, but this was a real disappointment. Stephen. Pembrokeshire

Very comfortable and clean with a lot of thought having gone into the whole set-up. We did feel it was somewhat isolated and may have been a small problem if the weather had been bad (which it was not!). Also the TV reception was very poor but did not spoil the very enjoyable stay; Thank you.

  • "A beautiful cottage in a very peaceful location."

Perfect for our family with our little one. There is a group of about 4-5 cottages so would be great to go as a big group of you. We had a very comfortable stay with lots of exploring to do all around. A car is essential as it is very isolated. The only thing we would suggest is the kitchen was a little under equipped.

Lovely location. Exceeded our expectations by a long way. Super clean. Very cosy and warm. Fantastic location. Lovely bottle of wine, home made fruit loaf, flowers and chocolate when we arrived. Linen and towels included - which reduces a lot of packing space and hassle. Enclosed back courtyard was great for our dog. Free BBQ starter pack was way and above our expectations. Fantastic kitchen and cooking facilities, pots, pans and utensils, including washing machine, washing up liquid, dishwasher and tablets, foil, cling film, tea, coffee, sugar!!! Books, DVDs, and leaflets about local areas of interest. Games room for the boys. Brilliant king size bed with dressing area and ginormous bathroom, with double shower and bath. Love, love, loved it.
