  • "On the whole we were very happy with our stay and thought it good value for money."

Just one or two points: There was a definite "doggy smell" which some of us noticed.. One of the armchairs( the one near the window) had a loose front leg which needs attention . Clearer information needed on what to do with waste on bin day. Unfortunately, we emptied rubbish into the appropriate bags but were not told where to put them.. Therefore they were not emptied by the bin men. But overall, a lovely cozy cottage - a delight to hire for a stay in a beautiful area.

Hi Brian. Many thanks for your feedback and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay overall. We invite guests to contact us with any issues during their stay, as its important to us that all our guests have a wonderful time at Elm Cottage. Thanks again, Carole Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and fantastic location to visit the Pembrokeshire coast and surrounding areas."

We stayed as a family of four (2 adults/ 2 children). The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a self catering holiday. The welcome basket with Welsh cakes, eggs, milk etc was a lovely touch and all towels, dishwasher tablets and toiletries were provided. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the beds extremely comfortable. Parking is not available directly outside the cottage but we didn’t find this an issue and parked down the road by the church. I did read a review where someone complained about a lack of microwave and we found this extremely unfair. The kitchen is small but we managed fine and every utensil needed for a week long stay was there. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location.

  • "Beautifully appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean."

Elm Cottage was perfect for our needs. A short walk from the estuary, a very short walk from the pub which is really friendly and served an excellent Sunday lunch (need to book). Great location: we visited Tenby, st David’s and Skomer island. We’ll definitely return. The owner was very friendly and helpful on the phone.

No washing machine which would have been more use than a dishwasher. A microwave is a home essential, especially when not really going to do too much cooking. Otherwise a really nice rental

It is in a lovely village and perfect to relax in, away from the stresses of a hectic life. The location is perfect for travelling all around Pembrokeshire and not just the coast. We are hoping to move to live in this area soon and the wi-fi helped us when looking for our next home. There is no garden and the space is best for a couple or small family.

  • "The cottage was wonderful."

The space was perfect except for the very heavy traffic just outside the front door. We wouldn't like to book in winter as the cottage is on a very steep hill. The info. file was very good of showing us were the river was to which we walked to on more than one occasion and even had a picnic on our last day there, magnificent views across the water, highly recommended. Many Thanks to Carol (the owner) for the lovely welcome pack & Flowers upon arrival. Steve & Paul. Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside.

  • "Lovely little cottage, very cosy, modern & welcoming."

Nice warm shower, small bathroom but you would expect this in a cottage. Unfortunately the main bedroom did smell of damp, although no obvious signs. Slightly alarming that you are extremely close to a road with buses, lorries & farm vehicles passing within inches of the gate. Fortunately there is a car park at the end of the road you can use. All in all we had a pleasant stay & the cottage is sited half way between various attractions.

Thank you very much for leaving a feedback, and we are pleased to hear that you loved Elm Cottage. We treat all feedback from our guests very seriously and reflect on any points within our control. You mention you could smell damp in the main bedroom though you couldn’t see any signs of damp. We personally service the cottage and can’t smell damp there at all but we have inspected the property extra carefully just to make sure. Out thoughts are: Elm Cottage is approximately 160 years old. When the house was refurbished we preserved the original old plaster on one wall in the main bedroom - is it possible you could smell old lime plaster? All walls have been painted with breathable clay paint which also smells differently from many modern emulsions. We hope to see you back again. Property Owner

The kitchen is very well stocked, the welcome pack was a really nice touch, the beds comfortable and the shower nice and powerful! It is quite small downstairs so be prepared for that if you are four tall adults and a dog but the two bedrooms are really roomy. This is a charming beautifully presented holiday home. Everything was provided, tea towels, towels etc. Shampoo, conditioner, body lotion etc. The welcome pack was a lovely thought and much appreciated The charm of the cottage is further demonstrated in its renovation & decor, the owners should be extremely proud of what they have accomplished. Would we return that’s a certainty. Parking isn’t the easiest as there are double yellow lines so “suggest listen” to the shop owner. The cottage is opposite the little village shop, the owner couldn’t do enough for you and so friendly as are the local residents. The local pub is literally a 2 minute walk, the food was fantastic (we ate there twice)

  • "Elm Cottage was delightful."

Cosy, warm and you are immediately made to feel extremely welcome. The extra touches of a hospitality basket on arrival including Pembroke apple juice & welsh cakes, doggie treats etc and the extensive range of handmade toiletries - soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, combined with the provision of environmentally friendly cleaning products (again all provided) and the high quality bed linen and towels provided were simply the icing on the cake. For us the recently decorated and refurbishment of this cottage was exactly to our taste. It is obvious the owners cherish this property and had carefully modernised the property while keeping it true to its age.It would have been simple to buy fixtures and fittings cheaply from the local DIY store, but instead the thought that had been put into every detail really has paid off. The beds where extremely comfortable and the shower worked like a dream. The kitchen was well kitted out but lacks a microwave (if you are use to cooking that way), but certainly not a problem for us. Our party consisted of 3 adults and 1 small very recently re-homed rescue dog and we fitted in perfectly. While you cannot park immediately outside the property that did not bother us as we always found a space slightly up or down the lane. The village is friendly and the local store is next door, great for the morning paper and milk. From the cottage you can take a stroll along the estuary and across the fields - it was perfect for us. We hope that future customers will give this little gem the respect it deserves and would welcome the opportunity of returning.
