Nice Annexe. Close to Town. Did not use Cooking units so can't comment. Just one problem Get a new remote for TV. This is giving you a lot of negative reports and is easily rectified.

  • "We were really looking forward to our holiday in Tenby and staying somewhere close to the town centre."

We arrived at the White Cottage Annexe after a 9 hour drive. Looking forward to a well earned rest. However, after getting the key and opening the door we were greeted by a strong musty/mould smell. We looked around the property and found the culprit to be an old mouldy mop in a cupboard. As this was the only mop we presume this was used to clean the floors! We put the mop outside and within a few hours the smell got better bet never went completely. As my wife was very upset she felt the only way to feel comfortable would be to clean the property herself. While she was cleaning she also found nail clipping under the toilet seat, black mould in the shower and an old bottle of watered down soap on the small sink. After showing me the nails I noticed the shower rail was coming away from the wall. The bathroom itself felt tired and in need of some attention. After the clean we then went to the shop to get milk and snacks as there was no welcome pack with basics like milk (something common in other properties). The bedroom was clean and the bedding was fine. It was a pity there was no kind of dressing table for toiletries and getting ready. The outside area is totally enclosed and felt too closed in for us. However, this wasn't an issue as we did not use it because it was overgrown, lots of dead leaves on the decking and generally not looked after. In the living room area we would agree with other reviewers that the sofa is low but the owner is right as this is a personal opinion. It was good to use as an arm rest if you sat on the floor. We did struggle with the TV remote. Getting it to turn on and change channels even after swapping the batteries over with another remote (no spares!). The kitchen was fine. All the pots and utensils felt clean enough to use. They may wish to put a tin opener and some scissors in the kitchen though. The property on the whole felt tired grubby in places. Even down to the decking on the approach to the main door on the wobbly side with a couple of raise screws. We felt let down by this property which looked so good in the photos. Maybe we should have said something but we did not want the confrontation and there was too much to fix in the short time we were staying. However, we ended up leaving a day early anyway!

  • "1.Sofa too low,plus low back."

Only suitable for office reception.2.Not dog friendly or safe.3. Kitchen tap loose had to hold to change from hot to cold. 4. Rail for shower, screw hanging out of wall. Sink only fit for cloakroom, which made it difficult to shave,so soaked the floor.Plus not clean. Finally television kept losing signal which made it hard to watch, but she did come round to try and fix it.On 5th day she got another box from sky which solved that problem.

The sofa is the one shown in the photos and obviously everybody has different preferences when it comes to a sofa and what they find comfortable. I was not informed of any of the issues concerning the bathroom or the kitchen tap and if I had been would have done my very best to rectify them immediately. I will be passing this information on to the cleaner and sort the tap and shower screen out. The guests had plenty of opportunities to tell me if they were unhappy with anything but he decided not to. As soon as I was informed of the issue with the tuning of the television I managed to retune and get the channels working again and I also showed them how to use BBC Iplayer, ITV hub and Netflix which worked well. I did then order a Sky box which I installed for them as soon as it arrived. Regarding it not being dog friendly I feel they obviously did not read the description of the property which Sykes write. There is an enclosed area which is shown in the photographs so it is not misleading in any way. The guest even said to me himself that he should have read the description in more detail as due to the age of their dog they found it difficult with the 10 minute walk into Tenby. Property Owner

  • "I rated low for comfort due to the bed which is a good size but pretty uncomfortable; and the tiny sink in the bathroom which would be ok for just a hand washing basin but not as a main washing/shaving basin."

It is a lovely annexe with nice furnishings and just a short walk to the town and beach.

A new bed has now been installed to address the issue with the comfort of the bed. Many thanks for your feedback. Property Owner

Came here for my birthday, holiday letting was as pictured, clean and catered for covid worries as well with thorough checklists, the only thing i would say is that the pictured displayed of the beach is not what you would see from the place as its about a 5-10 minute walk into town and may be a little misleading other than that i thoroughly enjoyed my stay and we had no issues

  • "The sign for the property is tiny had problem finding it, Google takes you to a beautiful white cottage but not the right property, when we eventually found the white cottage it is a let down as its a white house with an annexe that resembles a wooden shed not a cottage."

The wall in the passageway to the annexe needs repainting and the boiler overflow pipe needs checking as it was continuously dripping on to the floor next to the key safe. The first impression inside was warm and tidy, however the breakfast bar worktop needs repairing because the worktop strip is peeling off, the oven was dirty, the kitchen drainer has a broken drain cover all you see is black mould inside it. There isn't a patio its a small wooden box with artificial grass. The bedroom was spacious but the bed was uncomfortable and noisy, the bedside table draws don't open properly, the bedroom lacks storage we lived out of our luggage as wardrobe has the boiler and the chest of draws was too slim, the remote control in the bedroom was broken. The shower was dirty and leaks when you use it, the bathroom sink plug doesn't stay down so unable to fill to have a shave had to use a bowl and the toilet seat was loose. We were unable to relax in the sitting room due to the sofa being too low and the tv to high. Very disappointed.

Many thanks for your feedback. I'm glad that I was able to personally guide you to the property on your arrival. I strive to be honest with the advert, where it is accurately described as an annexe with a patio and the bedroom picture does not display any wardrobe. I of course also visited straightaway when advised about your concerns re the oven/shower/remote control. The oven was re-cleaned immediately and I offered to have a plumber assess the shower straightaway - as you declined this, regrettably this meant it unavoidably impacted on your stay. I can reassure other guests however that the shower was repaired on the day of your departure. As you advised you would be ok re the remote control and did not wish to be disturbed further for the duration of your stay, this also could not be addressed until you checked out. Regrettably, neither myself nor Sykes were informed of any further concerns during your stay - if I had known, I of course would have striven to resolve any concerns straightaway. I can assure you that all your feedback will be investigated/resolved where appropriate, at the earliest opportunity. The toilet and sink will also be added to the plumber maintenance check and I can already confirm that the boiler pipe has already been checked on the day of your check out and it is within normal operation with no repair necessary. I’m sorry you didn’t find the mattress comfy as it is quite new, but I appreciate bed comfort is subjective. Further maintenance checks will be carried out this week to asses any paint touch ups required. Longer term, I will see if lowering the TV is possible in the longer term to make the guest experience more comfortable. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "This property looks modern on the photos but it is let down by the cleanliness."

In particular the bathroom was in need of attention. Both sides of the shower screens were grubby, and bottom of the screens needed the black mould removing. The towels and tea towels were poor quality. No pillow protectors or mattress topper but a plastic mattress cover which was like sleeping on a sheet of plastic. There were only 4 coat hangers and no hairdryer but the property owner when she returned from holiday (on the Monday) loaned me a hairdryer and supplied more hangers. This year we have been 2 other of your properties which have supplied every possible cleaning product, maybe we have been spoilt but at this property we were supplied with antibacterial handwash, surface cleaner and 2 dishwasher tablets! A cloth or sponge to use with surface cleaner would have been useful! There was also a brush but no dust pan. We were left 1 toilet roll! Do you ever inspect these properties ?

The Annexe is thoroughly cleaned after every guest. Unfortunately as the owner was away on holiday for this particular changeover so she was unable to do her usual spot check. The owner will be making sure that the shower is thoroughly cleaned in the future. The guests are most welcome to contact ourselves at anytime during their stay and we always try to rectify any problems, which we have always done in the past. A brand new mattress has been put in the annexe and therefore does not require a topper. Following on from your constructive criticism we have replaced the towels and tea towels and a replacement brush will be put in and it is usual that cloths and sponges are supplied. A new mattress protector and pillow protectors will also be provided. Of course we welcome all feedback so we can strive to meet all guests needs. Property Owner
