Cardigan 3 miles.
St. Dogmaels is an ancient and tranquil village nestling peacefully around its ruined Abbey at the mouth of the River Teifi on the totally unspoiled west Wales coast. One of its attractions is Y Felin, one of only two working watermills in Wales and retains the machinery installed in 1820. It is thought the mill was originally built by the monks of St. Dogmaels' 12th century abbey. The miller shows how the mill works and bread, flour and cakes can be purchased from the mill or you can enjoy tea and cakes in the tea room next door. The village has a pub, fish & chip shop, a pretty green, a millpond with ducks and a children’s playground. Nearby is the wonderful Poppit Sands where you can relax on sunny days or enjoy invigorating walks in the cooler months. Visit Castell Henllys, the Iron Age Fort where everyone is encouraged to learn the ancient way of living or visit the wonderful Shire Horse Farm to see how farming was before tractors. With scenic coastal and countryside walks and an array of other attractions all close by this is a perfect holiday location all year round.
