Location: Skipsea

Hornsea 6 miles; Bridlington 9 miles.

The village of Skipsea is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet Skipsea also sits close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office, general store and tea room, a hairdresser’s, a fish and chip shop, and a pub. Many of the houses in the village, both old and new, use cobbles from the sea shore in the building. Just outside the village are the remains of Skipsea Castle. The surrounding countryside is excellent for walking and cycling, whilst the nearby seaside towns of Bridlington and Filey boast long sandy beaches and numerous resort attractions. With The Deep Submarium at Hull and the shops, cathedral and museum of historic York within reach, this is a superb base for a relaxing holiday.

Previous visitors' comments about Ivy Cottage:

Fantastic cottage furnished to a very high standard. The bathroom was out of this world with a top of the range spa bath! The equipment in the cottage was far better than you would expect from a holiday cottage. We even had crystal champagne flutes! A great base for exploring the East coast and the beach at Fraiserthorpe was fantastic.
