The picturesque village of Ballingarry is situated in the foothills of Slievenamon Mountain, in the southern part of County Tipperary, consisting of a main street with a church, post office, 2 pubs and handful of shops. Nearby is the town of Callan, which offers many pubs and eateries, while also within easy reach is the lively city of Kilkenny, a centre for arts, crafts and design, which boasts good shopping and a vibrant nightlife with many pubs, bars and restaurants. Kilkenny also hosts several annual festivals, including the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in June, the Kilkenny Rhythm 'n Roots in May and the Kilkenny Celtic Festival in September and October. Visit the impressive, 12th Century Kilkenny Castle, Dunmore Cave, which consists of a series of chambers formed over millions of years, or the St. Francis Abbey Brewery, the oldest brewery in Ireland!
