A great way to enjoy the landscape is by taking a trip on the narrow gauge Waterford & Suir Valley Railway (April to September), which runs along 12 kilometres of the scenic Waterford - Dungarvan line, with the train station located just outside Kilmeaden. Also popular are the blue flag beaches and watersports at Dunmore East, and the local crafts on display at Lismore and Dungarvan. Within an easy drive is the city of Waterford, home to the world famous exquisite crystal factory and offering a huge choice of shops, pubs and restaurants along its quays and backstreets. Enjoy golf, cycling, walking or riding, visit the area's castles, historic houses or spectacular gardens, or simply relax and enjoy the peace. A great base for a memorable Irish break.

Originally the dairy shed on the farm belonging to the current owner's great great grandfather, Hawthorn Cottage has now been lovingly restored to become a welcoming retreat with ample living space, attractive interior décor and the added bonus of very friendly next door neighbours. The thick stone walls, pine clad ceilings and lounge wood burner all add to the cosy country atmosphere. With beaches and wonderful coastal drives just a few miles away, plus all the sights of the city close by in Waterford - this cottage offers a quiet, relaxing base for a varied and interesting holiday.
