The small village of Tacumshane in County Wexford has a pub and restaurant, The Millhouse, and is home to the Republic of Ireland's only surviving windmill. Built in 1846, the timber used is thought to be beach driftwood or wood from the shipwrecks that were all too common in this coastal region. The windmill is now designated a national monument. This part of County Wexford has plenty on offer - Tacumshane Lake is a favourite with anglers and birdwatchers, there are many golf courses, and the coastal walking path is easily reached. Kilmore Quay fishing village is a few miles down the road, and there are some lovely beaches, ideal for relaxing and playing on the sand. The county town of Wexford is under 10 miles away, and offers plenty of amenities including shops, bars and good restaurants.

A wonderfully characterful detached cottage, over 100 years old, an annexe of the owners' family home in the scattered hamlet of Furziestown, near the village of Tacumshane, County Wexford. Tastefully furnished and offering cosy, comfortable County Wexford cottage accommodation, this lovely property has three bedrooms, a welcoming traditional sitting room and a lawned garden with views over fields and towards the sea. There is a great fishing beach a mile away, the coastal path with lovely walking is easily reached, Rosslare Harbour and the seaside village of Kilmore Quay, with its marina and seafood festival, is a short drive away. A County Wexford cottage that makes a great base, all year round.
