Dunlavin is a quiet village in West Wicklow, on the border with County Kildare. Due to its location, Dunlavin is the ideal base from which to enjoy the lush green pastures of Kildare and the ruggedly picturesque beauty of Wicklow – The Garden of Ireland. Within easy driving distance of Dunlavin is Russborough House, a palladian-style mansion former home to Sir Alfred and Lady Beit, now housing the Beit art collection. Travel further through Hollywood over the Wicklow Gap into Lauragh, close to the famous twin lakes and you can enjoy the monastic views of Glendalough. There are two sitting areas at this Dunlavin cottage, so adults can relax in one with a glass of wine or beer, whilst children can play in the other. Your Dunlavin cottage has a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, or you can head outside on a summer’s evening after a day exploring the area to relax and admire the rural views and stream. The Rathsallagh Golf Club is next to this Dunlavin cottage, plus Dunlavin itself offers shops, pubs and restaurants. There are three racecourses close by and good walking is available in the area. Within driving distance is Ireland’s capital – Dublin. This delightful city has something for everyone and is well worth a visit.
