Richmond 14 miles; Barnard Castle 10 miles.
The unspoilt Arkengarthdale village of Langthwaite is in the heart of TV’s “James Herriot Country” and is surrounded by spectacular and quite breathtaking countryside. Arkengarthdale joins Swaledale just 3 miles down the road in the popular village of Reeth, making the area a great base from which to explore all that the Dales has to offer. Langthwaite itself has a pub and just outside the village is another inn which offers food of a high standard. Pony trekking and equestrian activities are also available in the area, whilst the ancient market towns of Richmond, with its splendid castle, and Barnard Castle, and the quaint market town of Leyburn are all within easy motoring distance.

A wonderful cottage in a remote part of the Dales. It was as expected.
Nice big kitchen and an open log fire in the lounge.
We would stay here again and would definately recommend it to friends and family.
Great pub for food within easy walking distance.

The cottage was very homely and welcoming on arrival. The cottage was surrounded by beautiful views. It was very quiet and relaxing, having the farm and stream close by was perfect for our two young boys.
