Kirk Merrington is a pretty, hilltop village overlooking the Wear Valley and the Cleveland Hills. Enjoying fine views of rolling hills, woods and forests, the village offers three pubs and a church dedicated to St.John the Evangelist, which probably originates from the early part of the 12th Century. Amenities including a supermarket, a bakery and a chemist can be found less than 2 miles away, while the property is also conveniently situated for good walking in both Weardale and Teesdale. Within easy reach are Auckland Castle, home of the Bishop of Durham, whilst the delightful city of Durham itself is just 9 miles away.

Kirk Merrington 1 mile. A charming, semi detached barn conversion, situated close to the owners' lovely home near the pretty, hilltop village of Kirk Merrington. Surrounded by spectacular, wide open countryside, Meadow Cottage is cosy and comfortable with a large open plan living area with original open roof trusses, two delightful bedrooms and a rear garden, a perfect spot in which to relax and enjoy views of animals grazing and the hills in the distance. A wonderfully peaceful location, the village is just 9 miles from historic Durham boasting a good range of amenities and great walking can be enjoyed in the surrounding area. The north-east coast with its sandy beaches is within driving distance as are universities, theatres, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District. A lovely base for a well-earned, relaxing break.
All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x double with en-suite (wet room shower, basin & WC), 1 x twin with en-suite (shower cubicle, basin & WC). Spacious open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area & sitting area with electric fire.

Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer in external laundry room, dishwasher, colour TV, DVD, CD/radio. Small library of DVDs/games. All fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Ample off road parking. Enclosed, rear lawned garden with patio and furniture. Sorry no pets & no smoking. Shops & pubs 1 mile. Note: Quite a large pond at bottom of field, just beyond rear garden. Ensure children are supervised at all times.
