The pretty little Swaledale hamlet of Fremington is situated at the southernmost point of Arkengarthdale, where it meets Swaledale, and is a delightful area with magnificent countryside and spectacular views. The villages of Grinton and Reeth are just a short walk away, offering good pubs and excellent places to eat. Dating back to Saxon times, the village of Reeth became a centre for hand knitting and local lead mining and its 18th Century houses and hotel, clustered around a large village green, make it one of the very popular Dales villages. The village also offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants. Askrigg, better known to millions as Darrowby in TV's "All Creatures Great and Small", is just a short drive away as well as Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater and Hardraw Force (England's highest single drop waterfall at 99ft). The historic market towns of Richmond and Leyburn are also within easy driving distance and offer a wide range of amenities.

A charming semi-detached stone-built cottage situated in a lovely hillside position on the edge of the pretty little hamlet of Fremington and within walking distance of Reeth. The cosy property offers ‘upside down’ accommodation with the living area on the first floor and a raised patio area with garden furniture allowing guests to take advantage of the splendid views of Swaledale. It has been comfortably furnished and makes a superb base for exploring the Dales National Park. There is excellent walking from the doorstep. NB: The short flight of steps in the property is steep.
Two ground floor bedrooms (down short flight of steps): 1 x king-size double, 1 x full size bunks - narrow room with limited hanging space. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Comfortable first floor open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area with small stove-effect electric fire and bed settee. The living room (first floor) offers pleasant views over open fields to Reeth and the hills beyond. Stone entrance porch with access to the living room.
Electric night storage heaters with small electric stove in sitting area. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, automatic washer/dryer, TV, DVD, radio/CD/cassette player. All power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Off road parking 50 yards from property. Raised patio area with garden furniture. One well-behaved pet welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 12 mins walk.

This is my second time here this year. The cottage is warm and cosy and well positioned for 'straight from the doorstep' walks. It is beautifully situated, so peaceful and such attractive views. In a nutshell, this is a gorgeous little cottage in a beautiful area and well worth visiting.
