Barnard Castle 2 miles.
The small village of Boldron is situated in the heart of beautiful Teesdale. Boldron consists of a cluster of stone houses, a few farm dwellings and a delightful local pub. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep, with the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the River Tees and magnificent waterfall at High Force all close by. Other local attractions include the magnificent Raby Castle in nearby Staindrop, the Bowes Museum, Beamish Open Air Museum, Yorkshire National Railway Museum, Alnwick Gardens and of course Hadrian's Wall, the great Roman frontier across the north of England.

Previous visitors' comments about Stable Cottage:
Warm welcome from the owners - they were friendly and showed us around, talking us through how everything worked. They even booked us in for a meal at the local pub 'George and Dragon' - which serves excellent food. The owners provided us with so much lovely food - cheese, milk, bread, butter, eggs, lots of fruit. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. The property was warm, clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and we liked the shower. The owners have a beautiful garden, and the property overlooks rolling fields. We had a lovely stay and will be booking again!

We received the warmest welcome from the hosts, who were ever so helpful and accommodating. They really took care of our every need at a very stressful time in our lives. It is also very well located with great views at the back of the property.

The cottage is in a good location. The welcome pack was lovely and the local inn is superb.
