The property

This superb, spacious character cottage is situated in a tranquil location, attached to the owner’s home, Brook House Grange, in the small hamlet of Ogden.

Set in gated grounds of six acres and commanding magnificent views over the moors of Bronte Country, guests can take advantage of all of the facilities including the lake, woods and tennis court.

The cottage has three spacious bedrooms all overlooking the grounds toward the lake, each with its own allocated shower room.

The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for preparing hearty meals to be eaten in the delightful beamed dining room or on warmer days, on the sunny south-facing terrace.

Perhaps you would prefer a picnic by the lake watching the resident geese, or maybe spotting dragonflies skimming across the water?

If you are feeling energetic, then why not row across the lake or play a few sets of tennis and at the end of a day's activities, you can look forward to relaxing in front of the fire, on comfy leather sofas in the beamed sitting room.

Within walking distance are pubs and a golf club, where you can play or just enjoy a drink and a meal.

If you can tear yourself away from this beautiful cottage, you could explore nearby Howarth, once home of the Bronte sisters and now a charming village with shops, pubs, restaurants and a steam railway.

The cottage is such a delightful place you may not wish to venture far, but if you do, Skipton and the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park are easy drives, as are Halifax and Leeds if you fancy some retail therapy.

Nearby is the Ogden Water Nature Reserve with woodland walks and a must for birdwatchers.

Brook House Grange Cottage is a superb, luxurious base to explore the attractions of Yorkshire at all times of the year.
