  • "Really nice cottage on a lovely farm."

The hottub was fab and so we're the views. Hosts were also very welcoming. Only changes I'd make is the oven didn't heat very well as it's not fan assisted, also no buttons/pictures to tell you what settings they were so might need replacing or some clearer instructions on how to use. No baking trays so made cooking difficult. No pepper or washing up liquid so missing a few basic amenities. Likewise the fridge didn't get very cold. Everything else was perfect and the potholes have been fixed.

Thank you for your feedback sorry you struggled with the oven, we will look into this. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely 2 nights stay in the cottage."

It was very well equipped and had everything we needed. Did have a slight issue trying to work out the oven however got there in the end. Hot tub was lovely and in a really nice spot. The bottle of prosecco and milk on arrival was a very nice touch :) hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The farm was great and nice to watch the animals whilst sat in the hot tub! We visited the bay horse pub for food and had a lovely meal there would deffo recommend. The lane down to the farm wasn't great- huge pot holes so would advise driving very slow! Not sure who owns this land (probably not the hosts). Overall though a really nice stay thank you and we will definitely return :)

  • "What an amazing time we’ve had up in West Yorkshire for my 23rd birthday."

Me and my Fiancée enjoyed 3 nights up in the picturesque ‘The Old Corn Store’. We didn’t speak much to the hosts but we were welcomed warmly and greeted with a ‘morning’ when we bumped into them. They accommodated very well for our dog with a paddock at the back for him to run around in. The cottage was very warm, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, overlooking the town below and at night in the hot tub offered some relaxing views. We visited Haworth and Skipton which offer a wide range of Dog friendly pubs and cafes. Great facilities within the lodge with ovens and hob, fridge freezer and even a dishwasher and an extremely spacious shower. Overall it was just so relaxing and enjoyable which was something we wanted to do on this break. We’re not ones for normally going back somewhere when we’ve been no matter how joyous it may have been, because we like to explore other places. However, we will be making an exception in this case and will hopefully be back before the year is out. Thankyou so much to the owners for having us and for the Prosecco on arrival too. Very classy touch.

We look forward to seeing you again, thank you for the great feedback. Property Owner

We were made most welcome and very much enjoyed our stay. You’d be hard pushed to find another place so close to both town centre and the most wild and stunning countryside- all in walking distance. The view alone would sell the cottage but the Prosecco on arrival and the hot tub were a delightful bit of fun and luxury for February. It’s not every day you see snow on an Emu when you wake up! Highly recommend.

  • "Cosy well equipped cottage."

Storm Isha hit during our visit so unfortunately we had to hunker down and didn't have chance to use the facilities, nor walk to a local pub. Area is quite hilly so probably need to be reasonably fit to walk back up from Keighley. Hot tub is quite exposed. Enjoyed a reasonably sheltered walk around Ogden reservoir.

Thank you for the feedback. At least you were cosy in the storm. Unfortunately without the hills we would not have the views. Property Owner

  • "The Old Corn Store was the first holiday myself and my husband went on together when we had only been dating a few months - and this visit was our 2nd stay at the property (for our 2nd wedding anniversary!"

). We received a warm welcome from the hosts - bubbly, milk and biscuits was a lovely touch and very welcome after a long drive from Scotland! The cottage is lovely - amazing views, hot tub and has everything you need for your stay. It was also fun to see the animals on the farm - there are often helpers around on the farm so just ask them and they are more than happy to let you visit the animals. Only gripe would be that we were waaay too warm the first night - however, my husband spoke to the hosts the following day and turns out there was another thermostat hiding behind a curtain that we hadn't seen - problem solved! Only other thing I would say is that the road leading to the farm is very pot-holey and could do with a repair. This cottage is ideal for couples and a dog (we took our little dog with us too). Recommend going to the moors for a walk. Also recommend going into Haworth (we actually spent most of our time there when we were out). A few (dog friendly) eateries worth a mention - Haworth Old Hall (owners are a delight and very tasty food), the Hawthorn (amazing steaks from charcoal grill), The Fleece Inn (yummy pies). Also worth popping to the chocolate shop in Howarth and picking up a box of their signature salted toffee and coconut oil truffles (shop is not dog friendly- but the lady working there is lovely). Thank you for a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to return again! Nikki, Joe and Snoopy x

Cottage was warm and cozy inside with great views over the hills into Keighley, and the hot tub was an added bonus. Jo and Stu (the owners) let us feed the animals with them which was a great experience. There were Alpacas, donkeys, goats, a pig, peacocks and even some wallabies. Unfortunately the front door broke due to the high winds on the first day however Stu was straight out to fix this and was very understanding. This did not spoil the holiday at all. • "The holiday home was lovely and exactly as it stated in the description and from the pictures."

The holiday homes are on a farm with lovely views. However, right outside the holiday home was a caged Rooster which woke us up at 4.30 every morning. The hot tub lid was broken meaning it was difficult to move and the owners came knocking twice to tell us the same thing about this, disturbing our dogs. Each morning around 7.30 the owners checked and topped up the hot tub levels, great. But then proceeded to walk straight in front of our holiday home which was all glass doors to get to the next holiday home, instead of walking back around, once again disturbing the dogs and causing them to bark meaning we got absolutely no chance of a lay in and also not much privacy.

Thank you, Georgia, We are pleased you enjoyed the views. We are sorry the cockerel woke you up in the morning, they are caged at the moment due to the Bird flu as directed by DEFA, however I have to say they do make a noise even if they are free to roam. We do the hot tubs early in the morning, every second day, because we find our customers are in them at other times during the day and evening. The doors that have glass in them have also got curtains for your privacy, however we will bare cutting Infront of the cottage to enhance the visitor privacy in future. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Was a lovely weekend away. The only one thing that was slightly upsetting was the roosters/hens/geese that were in pens near the cottage. It didn't appear that they had much living space at all and I found it hard to enjoy myself seeing them in there. The other animals areas looked fantastic. That is the only thing that would stop me going again, other than that it was really lovely.

Thank you for your feed back Emma It upsets us too about the Hens I am not sure you will be aware but DEFRA have ruled all birds need to be kept in due to bird flu. Normally our birds are free to roam. The good news is DEFRA are allowing them out early next month. Property Owner

There was a large vase with lots of daffodils in when we arrived, which was also nice, but they were already dying, I think someone must have forgotten to put fresh ones in! The contact from Sykes was a little frustrating. I booked through booking.com. I was contacted by Sykes by phone 3 times whilst working to ask me for my email address. I find it bizarre that you had access to my phone number but had to call 3 times to get my email address and permission to use it. I understand the importance of GDPR, but this was just lack of organisation. On one of the occasions, i missed the call, so called back immediately, only to be told they had no idea why they were calling me and couldn’t find my booking. Very inconvenient and frustrating. Although I would love to return to this accommodation, I won’t be rushing to book through Sykes again.

Both our dogs loved staying and enjoyed the local area for walks. The cottage was cosy and warm with all the facilities you need. Only thing missing from our stay was a bath mat when getting out the shower but didn't change our opinion of the property. Watching the farm animals out the window each morning was also a plus point of the stay, as was the proximity to town for shopping etc. Overall, a lovely stay and will definitely be back. Only thing else to note is at this time of year, not all vehicles will find access to the property easy as it's a farm track and can get very muddy and rutted (being in a 4x4, this didn't affect us) and also ignore the satnav as this lane definitely isn't accessible from the bottom! Reasonably priced stay with everything you need for a short and cosy break. Many thanks.

However I felt that the accommodation could have made many improvements and would also need to be more honest in there description about the property. For a few examples, there is pretty much no Internet connection yet it advertises free WiFi which should be removed. The maintenance of the property should be noted such as the track to the property. I understand its a farm but I don't think it's necessary to have geese droppings to avoid on entrying to the cottage and around the car. Lifting suitcases to ensure we don't drag any in to the cottage. The cottage it self was lovely and modern but no freezer compartment, which I asked if there was in advance after reading a comment that there wasn't one for the corn store. I asked and was told there was one. To find when I arrive there isn't one and we have to use a separate freezer in the barn (which meant going around geese, peacocks and emus). A strange experience but meant we had to think in advance if we needed something from the freezer. The sofa is very low and should be mentioned for those with disabilities as you are pretty much on the floor. Which we didn't mind at first but by the end of our week we were very uncomfortable. Lastly it would be a good idea to put some hooks on the wall. As we had rainy weather it would have been useful. We had to use the dining room chairs to hang wet items which wasn't ideally. Apart from this we did enjoy our stay, the hot tub was lovely in the evening watching the stars and the commentary bubbly (was lovely on our first night in the hot tub). The under floor heating is a nice touch and the chance to interact with animals is a great experience.

This seating was not shown on your website photographs. We had to sit on the dining chairs whilst in the cottage. The animals surrounding the three holiday lets were a delight, but the Peacocks were vocal until dark and then again from daybreak. Perhaps this cottage should have had a warning notice about the noise. There was no freezer or freezer compartment within the cottage. We had our dog with us who has a raw food diet needing a freezer. We were able to get around this by buying fresh raw meat each day, but a small freezer compartment would have been handy. • "Fabulous little place, very private and relaxing , left alone to enjoy ourselves."

Left my light on in my car and battery was flat , asked Stuart for help who did not hesitate to get my car going again, thank you so much Stuart. Lots of lovely animals to see and of course the hot tub was amazing. The lodge was perfect, very very clean and welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again hopefully in the summer if there is a vacancy as I could imagine this little gem of a place will probably be booked up for the foreseeable. Thanks so much for our lovely little break and look forward to seeing you again.

  • "This is a lovely cottage with stunning views."

The owners Jo and Stuart are extremely helpful and friendly, though not intrusive. The hot tub was wonderful. The only small criticism from us (and we did mention it to the owners while there) is that there needs to be a mirror in the bedroom near the socket for drying hair. It would also be a big improvement if there were a little freezer in the cottage instead of having to turn out to the outbuildings which is not very convenient when it is wet, dark and muddy! Our only other comment would be that the settee, although comfortable, is very very low and as we are not spring chickens we did find it quite difficult to get out of! Something to be aware of if anyone has mobility problems. These are very minor points and we did enjoy the week there and could certainly recommend.

  • "The Old Corn Store is a nice cottage, with a bit of luxury added by the addition of a hot tub."

The views from the cottage, especially at night time when you can see the lights of Keighley are amazing. We had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed the proximity of the alpacas and other animals. The provision of a tea/coffee/milk and a bottle of prosecco on arrival were very welcome. We have rated the cottage good rather than excellent because it is down a very rough track, and could do with a deep clean - a number of glasses etc had to be washed before use. The addition of a washing machine, somewhere to hang wet towels and a mirror near a power point would improve the cottage, as would improving the mobile/wifi signal; but that said the bed was very comfortable and Jo and Stuart welcomed us on arrival although we did not see them again during our stay. The cottage and surroundings are very dog friendly with a few walks from the door to nearby cafes, and although Keighley is not a tourist location it is near enough to a number of places that are, so makes a good base, although initially a bit difficult to find. Overall, we would recommend The Old Corn Store.

The cottage is in the perfect location, hidden away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to everything you'd need. The cottage was well equipped with everything you'd need to cook and even had a wide choice of dvds. Hosts were absolutely lovely providing us with milk tea and coffee, a bottle of fizz and fresh flowers in the cottage. We got iced in on the last night when we were supposed to go out for tea but the lovely Jo gave us an extra bottle of wine which was enjoyed in the hot tub. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and loved waking up to the animals roaming round. We are looking I to booking another weekend away in December.

  • "We had a very relaxing time at the Old Corn Store."

The owners were there to greet us when we arrived (and were available to contact when we had any questions), and it was a nice touch to have some bubbly and milk/tea bags in the kitchen when we got in. There were lovely views, and the hot tub was amazing (it got used a lot!). The WiFi was virtually nonexistent though, not sure if it was better in any of the other holiday cottages - in ours we could rarely get connection and when we did it was really weak. Would be good to have a WiFi booster or something. The under floor heating was nice, it was set a bit warm when we got in but we turned it down and it was nice and pleasant. Our dog loved it, he enjoyed the field but wasn’t too sure about the geese! There were lots of dog friendly places to visit nearby, such as Hardcastle Craggs, which was good. Overall we would definitely recommend this place to stay.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
