  • "We enjoyed a fabulous 5 days at The Old Piggery."

It’s a wonderful place to stay and Stu and Jo could not be better hosts. My children asked if they could feed and help care for the animals during our stay and they were so accommodating. The hot tub was wonderful with great views and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We will definitely be returning soon.

Fantastic views. I found the bedroom very hot, even with the thermostat turned down the floor remains warm but the fan was put to good use ( unable to open the window due to high winds ). My granddaughter loved meeting all the animals and using the hot tub with grandad.

  • "A lovely place to stay with excellent views."

The owners were great and very friendly. The bottle of bubbly and milk in the fridge when we arrived was greatly appreciated, thank you. At one point we thought there was a problem with the Hot Tub, but there wasn't, the "EC" message on the display didn't stand for Error Code it stood for Economy, totally our fault as we didn't realise. However, when we rang one of the mobile numbers for someone to come and take a look, we didn't expect them to turn up so fast. Within 10 minutes a lady and gentleman arrived to sort it out, fantastic customer service I call that...! Overall, can't fault the accommodation or the service we received, the lane leading to the farm is a bit bumpy but otherwise nothing to complain about. We'll be back at some point for sure...!

The Old Piggery has the best of both worlds. It feels rural and secluded but a 5 minute drive to the facilities of Keighley, and those views are incredible by day or night. Jo introduced us to the animals and we got to feed the donkeys, alpacas and goats, which my daughters loved! We struck up quite a friendship with the donkeys who live on the next field and would always come to the fence to chat over a handful of grass! The accommodation was comfortable and spacious and a gorgeous setting for my 50th birthday! Thank you!

My only gripe would be how hot it was inside, we turned all the thermostats off as instructed, opened all the windows/doors and had fans on but we were all still sweating majority of the time. The underfloor heating I can imagine is lovely in the winter but we needed to switch it off the moment we got there and we couldn’t.

  • "Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting."

Kids loved seeing the farm animals everyday and feeding the donkeys. Beds were lovely and comfortable and the space was great for 4 adults and 2 children. The only negative was that there wasn't a washing machine and I personally would have preferred one instead of a dishwasher. I'm sure not everyone would agree with me but that's just my opinion. It also would have been nice to have fresh towels as we are unable to wash them. I did text the owner but got no response regarding this which was disappointing. These were minor negatives and did not impact on the overal stay, it was a lovely week away. Weather was atrocious but that is certainly nothing to do with the cottage. The under floor heating kept us all cosy inside. The hot tub felt lovely and clean which was nice as this isn't always the case with previous cottages. Many thanks to the owners, the Goulding and Robertsons.

The property itself was pretty good with just a couple of issues, all of the shower rooms were useable but in need of some sort of repair, and we found an iron in one of the cupboards but no ironingboard so we were unable to iron clothing, I don't know if this was Covid related (removing items to prevent spreading the virus) but it was inconvenient.

Thank you for your feed back. Prior to arrival you are given contact numbers of both owners who live on site we have ironing boards along with other equipment including shower chair, high chairs etc which we keep in storage. Hope this info helps future guests. not clutter Property Owner

The only thing that could be thought out and possibly improved, the hot tub had a lid, however when the lid is removed to access the tub, the only place the lid could go was propped up behind the tub which spoilt the view. • "Jo & Stu are really welcoming."

Our girls particularly enjoyed feeding the animals with Jo, they feel in love with baby Sprinkles! The weather for us was appalling but didn’t stop us enjoying the hot tub with a glass of bubbly. All in all we would highly recommend The Old Piggery.

  • "Really lovely place."

Felt completely at home from the second we walked in. All the rooms are really nice. The bathrooms are all very modern and clean. The hot tub is perfect and an has an amazing view. The place is heated by underfloor heating and the temperature is perfect all day round. Even though it was snowing outside our little one year old was loving life walking around in just his nappy. The whole family loved it and we didn’t want to leave. Really nice break away. Also had a bottle of prosecco and a bottle of milk waiting for us in the fridge which was a nice touch.

  • "Stuart, Jo and their staff were fantastic hosts and great with the children."

Nothing was too much trouble. The Old Piggery was brilliant (it's wonderful to have a fully equipped kitchen that allows you to cook properly) and very comfortable. The only thing that could have improved out stay, and this is a minor thing, would have been a small freezer (I like ice in my wine). We'll definitely return!

  • "Beautiful location, cottage well equipped."

Enjoyed a lovely relaxing break. Didn’t see much of the rest of the site due to storm Eleanor but imagine it would be great in spring/summer. Ideally located for visiting Haworth and Skipton. Would definitely recommend.

  • "This holiday for us was amazing, and we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of bubbles."

The Old Piggery was perfect for us (3 young adult couples (18-25)). It was beautiful inside and out, and it was very spacious, it also included all necessities (and Yorkshire teabags!). We had a fantastic time here, and the hot tub was a fantastic extra. We went on some lovely walks around the farms and local villages/towns, which were perfect for my pooch. Everyone was lovely at Cragg Hill farm and were extremely helpful and friendly. We met some of the animals, and the donkeys were our favourite. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic time away, especially with it being a few days before Christmas (they even had fab christmas decorations up!). We would definitely recommend this holiday to everyone looking for a relaxing or walking holiday with their pets; my dog loved his stay and really enjoyed his adventurous, muddy walks. Warm, clean, comfortable and very good value for money! 10/10 stay, definitely recommend!! We shall be returning in 2018!

As previous feedback stated, the Old Piggery just feels warm and inviting as do Jo and Stu who own it. Clean and tidy with eveything we could need. The hot tub I did get to try this visit and it was a fantastic experience. The views are wonderful and the air fresh. Beds are nice and comfortable the underfloor heating ..... I had forgotten just how much I missed it ! The internet connection as being greatly improved and we had no trouble getting a connection. The bathrooms are of a high standard with great power shower. About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
