A charming Dales town nestling in the steep-sided valley of the River Nidd. Quaint little alleys and yards off the steep main street house many interesting shops offering a wide range of unusual gifts and mementos. The town is well known for its prize-winning floral displays, whilst the leisure centre offers splendid sports facilities and the riverside park with children’s play area is not to be missed. Also worth a visit are the town’s Craft Workshops and the award winning Nidderdale Museum - a lively collection of displays illustrating all aspects of Dales life in the past. Up and downstream, the Nidd Valley offers excellent opportunities for walking and bird watching.

A charming detached, 18th century stone built cottage, in an elevated position in the popular Nidderdale town of Pateley Bridge. Offering upside-down accommodation with lovely views of the surrounding area, this lovingly restored holiday home is warm, snug and well furnished, retaining many original features including old beams. The amenities of Pateley Bridge are close at hand, including excellent old pubs and local eateries as well as the River Nidd, which winds its course through the village. Excellent walking can be enjoyed from the doorstep, and the likes of Harrogate, with its fabulous shopping centre, and the market towns of Ripon, Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes are within easy reach. An excellent base for a relaxing, romantic break.
One ground floor double bedroom (access to bed from one side only). First floor bathroom with bath with shower over, basin and WC. Small first floor kitchen. First floor sitting room with dining area and access to patio through French doors. Note: Entrance to property is via first floor accommodation.

I liked the fact that we didn't have to use the car much as you could stroll into town and that you could walk the Nidderdale Way from your back doorstep. The cottage was also in a nice location for Harrogate and the Eastern Dales.
