  • "Lovely old property."

Perfect location. Some of the cutlery and crockery was a bit grubby. Had to take shower heads off to clean as water wasn’t running freely but it wouldn’t stop us recommending you

  • "Clock View is a beautifully decorated cosy apartment with great views and a central position in the village."

The owners provided good reference material and a lovely welcome basket. Haworth is a charming village with lots of wonderful gift shops, galleries, cafés and pubs and fabulous walks. Great place for any Brontë enthusiast and the Museum and Church are just outside. Near by is the pretty town of Hebden Bridge. The only problem was that it was so lovely, that I did not want to leave and now everywhere I go, a part of me will be wishing I were back at Clock View.

Perfect location in Haworth and so nicely furnished. Very clean and tidy with everything you’ll need to cook should you want to. Great communication from the owners and a helpful guide made the stay hassle-free. Certainly will be staying again.

  • "We stayed here for a weekend break and had a fantastic time."

The location is absolutely perfect - on the main street and the bedroom is on the back so it was peaceful overnight. Just a 2 min walk to a big car park. The flat is really cute with original features and a lovely range of prints on the walls. We had everything we needed, including a comfortable bed! The only thing I would mention is that the sofa is a little tired and I think the springs are going so that was a little uncomfortable. Having said that, we'd love to return one day!

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay."

We did find it difficult to sleep in that the pillows were too low and the bed was quite hard. The property just needs a little maintenance, a clean of the furniture, walls painting and a thorough clean. It didn’t smell fresh although I appreciate it is an old building. Although the fridge door closed, the fitting of the wooden front needs addressing and there is a plastic part at the bottom of the fridge that is broken. The shower sealant requires replacing and there is some mould on the tiles. The shower drain is also slow or partially blocked. The information guide was excellent regarding where to park, dining out, pubs and how to operate everything in the flat. Communication from the owners, prior to arrival regarding access to the property was very good. The welcome tray of wine and other items was also a lovely gesture. We would stay again if all the issues mentioned were sorted out.

We stayed the first night and contacted Brian the owner the next morning. He was brilliant and met us at the property and straight away changed us to his other apartment below. This was warm and a similar layout as the other property. The location is perfect as you have a choice of pubs and restaurants within walking distance. Brian booked us in to The Hawthorn pub which his son runs for Sunday lunch. They won best roast in the UK and it was superb! Thanks so much Brian. We will return.

Thank you Helen for being patient and moving to our other apartment below. This gave us the opportunity to have a new boiler fitted straight away before the next guests arrived. So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you in the near future. All the best Brian Property Owner

  • "We have always had fantastic accommodations with Sykes, and this was no exception."

A beautifully maintained property with absolutely everything you could wish for to make your stay here perfect. The living areas were extremely comfortable and enough crockery and kitchen utensils to provide fully for yourselves. The bedroom was very spacious with plenty of storage and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was well presented and everywhere was beautifully clean. The church is in close proximity and the clock strikes ever 15 minutes, but this was not an issue and didn't wake us up at all. Clock view is perfectly located to enjoy the beautiful surrounding areas and there are many lovely walks to be had. The village itself is spectacular, boosting many shops, cafes and eating places, we would highly recommend the Haworth Steam Brewery for food, but be advised booking in advance is advised to avoid disappointment. The village has a quaint and welcoming feel to it and has a vast number of pubs in such a small area. We have nothing negative to say about this accommodation and surrounding areas and would recommended it to anyone ,unless you have mobility issues as it is on a hill. We will most certainly be returning to this lovely place and apartment.

  • "The communication before we arrived at Clock View was timely and informative."

We parked at the Bronte Museum 24hr car park which is very close to the apartment. It costs around £5 a day and you can use cash or the RingGo app. We found the apartment after asking the very friendly man at the sweet shop. To be fair we might have found it ourselves only the pretty petunias by the front door partly covered the key boxes. The apartment is very stylish and we were greeted by a super welcome basket. Clock View has a well equipped kitchen, super comfortable huge bed and is in a prime location for a visit to Haworth. The roofers arrived one morning to rectify a problem mentioned in a previous post. We were given plenty of notice of this. We would definitely stay at Clock View again if we visit Haworth.

  • "Hi, The bed needs some tlc as it is two single mattresses not joined with a home made foam piece on top."

Not very comfortable sofa, not having cushions added to the uncomfortableness. The shower needs some attention as it slips down because there isn’t a stay that works to keep it locked. When it rains there is water coming through the ceiling and down the walls in the bathroom. Parking is also a problem as you have to pay £6 per day and move the car by 8am or repay or park on the main road on the hill. Other than this nice cottage.

Thank you for taking the time to make your comments. Please note the following in response to your feed-back: There is indeed a commercial mattress-topper which adds to the comfort of the bed; we do not manufacture these ourselves. The bed is extremely comfortable. We have added cushions to the sofa to help alleviate any uncomfortable. We were not aware of any problems with the shower stay but will attend to this during the next changeover period. You have miss-read the Parsonage car parking instructions as you do not have to move cars by 8.00 am. However, I have today written to our local councillor to request that the signage on the parking machine be made easier to understand. Other car parks and parking facilities are available in the village. During lock-down, roof repairs were carried out and the bathroom redecorated after we were made aware of a leak. From your report it appears that there is still a problem so it appears that the roof has not been repaired satisfactorily. We have just made the builder aware of this and he is aiming to re-repair the roof asap. We are always on hand locally to quickly address any issues that may arise. I gave you my mobile number and you were asked in the days before your visit to please just call should you have any problems or if you needed anything else. Disappointingly, you chose not to do this but instead preferred to complain online once you had got back home. This does not help either you or me, particularly with regards to the roof, as the sooner you mention things like this the better it is for everybody. However, if it makes you feel better to act like this in these difficult times, I am glad to have been of service. Property Owner

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
