Location: Cragg Vale

Hebden Bridge 4 miles.

The beautiful Pennine hamlet of Cragg Vale is situated on the steep and winding Cragg Road and is the longest incline in England, still a major challenge to cyclists. The road winds its way up to beautiful heather-clad moorland, 1000 feet above sea level, and wooded cloughs and babbling brooks that cascade down the hillsides beckon the walker to explore the countryside. On the other side of the valley is the village of Luddenden and the glorious oak woodlands that make up Jerusalem Farm, a local nature reserve made famous by TV's In Loving Memory. Nearby Hebden Bridge is a diverse and bohemian town home to restaurants, bars, bistros, markets, an independent cinema, art galleries, and the picturesque Rochdale Canal. A scenic car ride over the moors takes you to the splendid Parsonage Museum which commemorates the famous Bronte family. The area is a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway. Skipton, "Gateway to the Dales", is also an easy and scenic car ride away.

Previous visitors' comments about Hove Wood View:

Beautiful cottage! Well equipped and clean. The owners left eggs, milk, flowers, wine, biscuits and toiletries which were all appreciated. The area around the cottage is lovely. Plenty to see and do. Overall everything was excellent.
Mrs Bostock, Rossendale, February 2012

We have been staying in this area at different holiday properties for 6 years now and none of the properties compare to this one. Hove Wood View is fantastic in terms of parking availability, views, location, cleanliness, design and available facilities. The owners are great - they don't leave out any do's and dont's and they let you get on with your holiday in peace. It is one of the most relaxing holidays we have had and we really felt at home. The owners left a fabulous welcome pack including fresh flowers, wine and free range eggs and our dog really liked the treat they left him - what a lovely idea! We would certainly like to book again for next year.
Mr Ranahan, Haverfordwest, November 2011

The property was extremely well equipped and thought had been taken with extras left by the owners. There was good heating and hot water supplies. There were beautiful views from the cottage and the location was peaceful, even though it is near the road the traffic noise was not a problem.
Mrs Aspel, Bexley, September 2011

It was such a lovely location and the cottage was well above my expectations. Beautifully well thought out. Would certainly recommend this to my family and friends. Thank you so much.
