Location: Grassington

Skipton 9 miles; Ilkley 12 miles.

Grassington is one of the most charming villages in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Traditional stone cottages and shops are clustered around the cobbled market place, offering exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size, with a monthly farmer’s market offering a mouthwatering range of organic and homemade local produce. Situated on the River Wharfe, with the extensive Grass Woods to the north of the village, this is a superb walking area. Down dale is Bolton Abbey with the Abbey ruins, the Priory and the famous “Strid Walk”. A little further is the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden boasting spectacularly beautiful limestone scenery. With many other beauty spots scattered throughout Wharfedale, Grassington provides a great base for exploring the local area and all that the Dales have to offer, with Brontë Country and York also being within easy motoring distance.

Previous visitors' comments about Blacksmith Cottage:

A quality studio let, with lots of little extras. A very comfortable cottage, lovely super king-size bed, tastefully furnished and decorated. A very enjoyable break in a lovely village. We parked the car and were able to leave it until the end of our break. Great walking country and good pubs in the village.
Mrs Jones, January 2012

Being near to the square and shops, and the ground floor accommodation was wonderful. We will be coming back - we had a fabulous holiday and everyone was so friendly.
Mrs Smith, Brigg, July 2011

The location was excellent and Grassington is a beautiful place. Very dog friendly and a good choice of eating establishments.
Miss Coles, Northwich, June 2011

We loved the internal décor of the property. Grassington is a beautifully quaint little village with cobbled streets and loads of lazy amenities like a chippy, an Indian take away plus of course a few pubs.
