Location: Haworth

Skipton 10 miles; Hebden Bridge 10 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film ‘The Railway Children’, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.

Previous visitors' comments about Butterfield Cottage:

I cannot rate this cottage too highly. Comfortable, every possible appliance, convenient and well priced. I am a very satisfied customer!
Mr Asquith, Ferndale, February 2011

Haworth is a lovely village and the cottage is situated in a very handy location for accessing the Dales and other villages surrounding Haworth. The cottage was very cosy. The cottage had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Lovely welcoming touch of a bottle of wine and box of chocolates too. Making the whole stay feel like they actually cared.
Miss Dugard, Hove, December 2010

The location of the cottage was ideal as it was in close proximity to most of the places we wanted to visit. Good restaurants and pubs also close by. Enjoyed the walks in Malham and Ingleton Falls tremendously.
Miss Naidu, Ashford, October 2010

Welcoming extras such as milk in the fridge, fruit and wine. Very friendly people in the village.
