Location: Skipton

Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain, and the The Copper Dragon Brewery, opened in 2002 is highly rated in the CAMRA listings. Enjoy a canal trip on a traditional barge or visit Embsay Steam Railway, which has regular steam train excursions at the weekend and is only 1 mile away. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!

Previous visitors' comments about Ermysteds Cottage:

Very convenient, clean and warm. Will definitely recommend to all friends.
Mr Wiggan, Barnoldswick, May 2013

The cottage was in an ideal location to go into town for the pubs at night and central for all our walks during the day. An extremely clean cottage to come back too and a huge comfy bed was a bonus.
Miss Fewkes, Sheffield, March 2013

Great location, short walk from the station and the supermarket. Spacious bedroom and bathroom were also fantastic. Very well kept and clean. We'd definitely stay there again.
Mr Pinner, Katsushika, February 2013

I liked the fact it is so central, a maximum 10 minutes walk to the station or the supermarket and less to the centre of Skipton. I also liked to be able to hang out washing and to sit out in the little garden at the back. It is a quiet little cottage and I enjoyed staying there.
