Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2008 the Academy of Urbanism voted the High Street the best shopping spot in Britain, and the The Copper Dragon Brewery, opened in 2002 is highly rated in the CAMRA listings. Enjoy a canal trip on a traditional barge or visit Embsay Steam Railway, which has regular steam train excursions at the weekend and is only 1 mile away. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!

Previous visitors' comments about Ginnel Mews:
Ginnel Mews was a little gem in the heart of Skipton, a surprisingly quiet area. Great for walks down the canal and shopping. Skipton is certainly the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
Mr Laidlaw, Fleetwood, October 2011
The location of the property was perfect, just a few minutes walk to the town center. I would definitely recommend this property.
Mr Urbanski, Nottingham, September 2011
The location of the property was ideal. Shops and amenities were only minutes away and it was a good base for getting around to visit the various attractions. Skipton itself was a lovely well kept town.
Mr Craik, Sunderland, March 2011
The cottage was in a quiet area off the main street which was lovely, no cars passing, only the sound of birds. Overall the property was lovely and would use it again.
