This quiet Dales village is of ancient origin, with a stone circle dating back to the Bronze Age and having been the site of a monastic settlement in the 12th Century. Today it is popular with walkers and steam railway enthusiasts who come to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, with its award-winning authentic station buildings and steam trains. The Old Mill in the village centre boasts a needlecraft centre and coffee shop, whilst all the amenities and attractions of the lively bustling market town of Skipton are close at hand. Nearby are lots of popular places to visit, including Bolton Abbey, Kilnsey and Grassington making this an ideal location for a wonderful Dales holiday.

A charming, stone-built terraced cottage, situated in a quiet position just a few hundred yards from the village square, in the Dales village of Embsay. Named after one of its previous occupants, Sally’s Cottage is a real delight, offering accommodation of character and charm including many original features, a cosy open fire and lovely views of Embsay Crag from the twin bedroom. The use of a large mature garden with bike storage makes this holiday home an ideal base. Whether you enjoy the traditional village pubs (which all serve food), explore the walks from the door, or visit the market town of Skipton or the popular Wharfedale villages of Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington, Sally’s Cottage offers something for everyone. Harrogate, York and Bronte country are also nearby. Note: This property can be booked with ref 1485 to accommodate up to 8 people.
