Skipton 8 miles; Grassington 3 miles.

Linton is one of the most outstanding villages in the upper Wharfedale community. The ancient Linton Beck flows through the village crossed by packhorse bridges, stepping-stones and fords. The stone houses clustered around the central green date from the 17th and 18th Century, and at the head of this village stands an architectural masterpiece, the Fountaine Hospital, founded in 1721. The village is served by the Fountaine Inn, with a wide reputation for outstanding beers and food, and its welcoming atmosphere. Close to Linton Falls on the River Wharfe, this is a superb walking area, with many paths to other villages, and easy access to the limestone fells. Down dale is the haunting Abbey ruins and Priory at Bolton Abbey, or the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden, with spectacular limestone scenery. Linton is a great base for exploring the local area with the market town of Skipton and its medieval castle a short drive away, and many other historic places including Bronte Country, Castle Howard, the elegant spa town of Harrogate, racing at Ripon and the majestic medieval city of York within easy motoring distance.

It was a beautiful cottage in a fabulous village location. The pub nearby was fantastic and did great meals.
Mr Spurdens, Leamington Spa, September 2011

Just wanted to say we had a fabulous time at your beautiful cottage in Linton. It was really homely and had everything we needed. There were some nice touches - the delicious biscuits, the tea and coffee, but most of all the lovely comfortable beds! I'm sure we'll be back again! Thanks again, the week was bliss!
Mr McKeith, Lincoln, August 2011

Fantastic location for walking and exploring the Dales. The kids made friends and played out on the green most evenings. We had a wonderful holiday despite the weather.
Mrs Greatrix, Nottingham, August 2011

The village was lovely and the food in the local pub excellent. This is a great venue for kids as we felt our daughter was safe at all times.
