Location: Horsehouse

Leyburn 8 miles; Kettlewell 8 miles; Hawes 18 miles.

Horsehouse is a tiny village in the heart of unspoilt Coverdale, a relatively undiscovered corner of the Yorkshire Dales. The village is home to a pub serving food and St. Botolph's Church. Many green lanes and ancient tracks still cross the fells and connect the hamlets, villages and towns which make up the major settlements in this narrow dale. The nearest market town is historical Leyburn. Dominated by its large market square, which still boasts a lively Friday market, the bustling town of Leyburn is known as the ‘Gateway to Wensleydale’, with beautiful views from its western edge across the Dale. The town has much to offer with its many craft shops, galleries and tearooms. There are many lovely walks for all abilities in this beautiful area, as well as delightful villages to explore. Also within easy reach are many other attractions, notably the Constable Burton Hall Gardens with extensive parkland and woodland walks, the Forbidden Corner with its underground passages to explore, and of course the lovely Georgian town of Richmond with its fine castle ruins.

Amazing views. Standard of fitments was better than anywhere else we have stayed before. Everything was catered for. Quite luxurious!
Mrs Thomas, Eastbourne, August 2012

Spacious accommodation, super comfortable beds, picturesque setting and a lovely kitchen in which to prepare our own meals. The icing on the cake was the lovely piano. It was used a lot for piano and oboe duets when it was raining!
Mrs Refausse, Basingstoke, July 2012

There was lots of space for a large group of various ages. The cleaning lady was helpful and by our experience keeps a spotless property. I would think this is perfect for Xmas or New Year.
Mr Spencer, York, June 2012

Despite poor weather, property was very well equipped and very homely.
