MYLOR BRIDGE NEAR FALMOUTH

Falmouth 4 miles; Truro 8 miles.

A sought-after and picturesque village at the head of Mylor Creek that runs up from the Carrick Roads, the World's third largest deep water harbour. Boats and sailing, wooded creeks, softly gliding water, riverside pubs and fabulous gardens epitomise the area. This friendly village has a superb selection of local shops (try the fresh fish!), a post office, a good pub and several restaurants within easy reach. The nearby harbour town of Falmouth with its exciting and newly opened Maritime Museum and its castle, beaches and marina makes a great day out while the Cathedral city of Truro famous for its cobbled streets, theatre, museums and vibrant shopping centre should not be missed. Take the car, or a boat from Falmouth, for a trip up the stunningly beautiful Helford River and while there, call in at Glendurgan and Trebah Gardens for the horticultural treat of the year. The area is perfectly placed too for exploring the rugged cliffs, sandy coves and fishing villages of the Lizard Peninsula, also The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both within an hour's drive.

The Property: Avalon

This well situated detached property with views across open fields and out over the creek, sits on the hillside on the edge of Mylor Bridge. Simply furnished, it makes the perfect base for a family holiday. The tidal creek is perfect for those who love boats while the yacht harbour with its moorings, sailing school and sailing club is a mile away. For country lovers, the area has a wealth of footpaths that pass through open fields and along the river bank down to waterside pubs. If you seek the attractions of village life away from the tourist crowds but close to the many attractions the area has to offer, then look no further.

Accommodation

Four bedrooms: 2 x double (one with access to bed from one side only), 2 x single. Main bathroom on ground floor with bath, basin and separate WC. Shower room on first floor with WC, basin (cold water only) and electric shower. Well equipped kitchen. Dining room with french windows leading to decked area. Comfortable sitting room with Parkray solid fuel fire. Glazed porch to rear.

Amenities

Full oil central heating and additional heating from solid fuel fire in sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, automatic washing machine, colour TV, radio/cassette player etc. All oil, power and starter pack of fuel for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Cot and highchair. Lawned garden with patio and garden furniture. Garage (unlockable) suitable for equipment storage. Off road parking for 2 cars (plus boat or trailer by arrangement with owner). Sorry no pets. Shops and pub 5 mins walk.

Homely cottage with some nice personal touches provided a good base for our holiday. It is in a nice quiet village with good small supermarket, excellent fishmongers and butchers but with easy access to beaches and visitor attractions. Pretty views of estuary from cottage. Recreation ground within walking distance.

As a base the property couldn't have been better, very clean and tidy with everything we needed and it even had a fantastic view from the patio decking. Lovely village with a great pub, good fish shop and a general store with everything we needed, nice walk down to the harbour and easy access to the rest of Cornwall.
