Ref: 1041 Bay View
BEADNELL Seahouses 1.5 miles; Bamburgh 5 miles. This attractive and peaceful harbour village is situated beside one of the most beautiful stretches of Northumberland's Heritage Coastline - Beadnell Bay. Established in Saxon times, Beadnell was once an important fishing village and a 'smugglers' haven. Nowadays, it is still a fishing village, but is equally popular with holidaymakers who come to enjoy its pretty harbour and, of course, the nearby sandy beaches. The village has a shop and two pubs which serve food. Popular Seahouses is just over a mile away and has shops, a supermarket, restaurants etc as well as offering boat trips from the harbour to the magnificent Farne Islands - a haven for bird watchers. Bamburgh is close by, whilst the market town of Alnwick with its Castle & Gardens, shops, pubs and restaurants is a short drive away. The Property: Bay View A most delightful chalet style first floor apartment, only 100 yards from Beadnell's vast sandy beach and with views across the sweeping bay. Situated in a quiet cul de sac on the edge of the village, Bay View makes an ideal base for a family holiday with easy access to the sandy beach (no roads to cross), whilst everyone (young and old) will enjoy relaxing on the apartment's balcony to eat or enjoy the views. Nearby are numerous golf courses, excellent watersports facilities and sea fishing. The historic Market Town of Alnwick is only a short drive away, with its grand Norman Castle and its now somewhat infamous Garden (Alnwick Garden) and 300 acre Deer Park. A truly ideal base for exploring Northumberland and its many treasures. Accommodation Two bedrooms: 1 x super kingsize double (with TV/video), 1 x twin. | Previous Visitors' Comments | The accommodation was great. Clean and very presentable, perfect for a family for a damp week in Northumbria! The little touches like milk and a bottle of wine - were thoughtful and appreciated. The closeness to the beach was ideal with a six year old. We have already been recommending Bay View to our friends! A great spot for exploring the locality!

Aug 2008 | Location to the beach is fantastic - so good not having to drive vast amounts of miles when a 3 minute walk is all you do here. Apartment is well equipped and it made a change that all the little bits ie washing up liquid etc already there.

Aug 2008 | It was like a home from home. Sometimes in a holiday cottage there is inadequate provision of crockery and cutlery, but at Bay View there was plenty of everything. Similarly, having a large fridge-freezer contrasts with the typical provision of a small fridge with tiny freezer compartment.

Jun 2008 | Very safe position for beach. Property well located.
Mr Carruthers, Ipswich, Suffolk
May 2008 | Good location - Pubs in village served excellent food - "Craster" & "Beadnell Towers"
