  • "2nd visit and it did not disappoint."

Peaceful week spent walking along the beach and watching the sunsets from the end of the garden. Highly recommend

Dear Philippa, It's always a pleasure to welcome guests back for another stay and to hear how people enjoy the raw beauty of the coast seen from the garden and Beach Shacks. Hard to believe it, but despite the photos showing the 180 degree sea views and the lovely mature borders I've had someone describe the Garden as uncared for !!!!!!!!! Property Owner

  • "The sea view from the flat was spoilt by the uncared for garden, the flat was at best very basic and in need of a refurb, especially the bathroom."

the kitchen lacked most utensils to cook a meal ie only two saucepans and a very old and battered frypan. At a price of £2800 for two weeks stay i expected a certain level of comfort, but sadly it was not home from home. The one star goes to the welcome pack.

Dear Trevor, I would normally thank people for their feedback as I take my guests views and comfort very seriously, but I am rather baffled by what you have written. We have a high level of bookings all year, with guests frequently returning. We receive superb reviews for our setting both here and on Airbnb and have never had anyone speak of the sea views at the end of the garden being spoilt by the garden. I would suggest the reader looks at the 13 accurate and up to date photographs of the simple lawn and mature borders, photos you would have seen yourself, which enabled you to make a choice of this or a more formal and manicured setting, if that is compellingly important to you. As well as those 13 photographs , 12 more numbered 6-17, are taken looking out from inside the property, and enable the viewer to appreciate the simple beauty of the surrounding grounds in perspective to the beach side location. I would seem that you would chose to maintain it differently if it were yours. From the first floor elevated height of the home, it is hard to see how this lovely view, which everyone else loves, could impact on your holiday to the extent that it's your abiding memory of your two weeks is a negative one of our superb location. Prior to arrival you are sent a welcome message which requests that you contact me if there is anything more you need, or if anything is missing which would enhance your stay. That message was repeated when I phoned you prior to arrival and when I met you at the house. During the 2 weeks you were with us we chatted several times and you said you were enjoying your stay and did not say there was anything you would like added, leading me to understand all was well. Now after your stay, you say the kitchen lacked utensils without saying what you would have liked adding to what others find adequate. If you needed a third saucepan for the two of you, you had but to say, there are spares there, and any extra utensil would have been bought for you. I ensure I communicate with my valued guests, but communication is a two way street, so I wonder why you didn't advise me of your need, or that you had broken the dining room chair, leaving the cleaning team to report it and replace it just in time for incoming guests. • "We had brilliant week."

The property was spacious and very comfortable. My only concern was no mention of the shared garden and the fact there are 4 properties on the site. I felt this was misleading. We still had a great time and would have no problem recommending you. I have marked down maintenance as the bedroom door and ceiling need painting

Dear Tom, thank you for your feedback and I'm glad you had a great time and can recommend us. I understood that the details explained about the private patio and BBQ area with a seating and lounger area and that the extensive check in and local information sent out explained the additional extensive areas are shared. I will check and make sure it's clearer and am pleased it didn't impact on your stay and you s had a brilliant time. Kind regards Mark Property Owner

  • "Plinth above sliding door needed."

Holes filling in on curtain rail above front door. Green mould on bottom of shower door needs sorting.proper recycling bins need to be put in shelving area near shed

I've looked but can't find anything on the bottom of the shower door, so that's a bit of a mystery. "Plinth above sliding door needed" A plinth is a raised platform placed below an object, so I'm afraid your suggestion to put it above doesn't make sense. If you would prefer to have the sliding door on a raised plinth on an otherwise level floor I would consider that unwise. "Filling in on curtain rail above front door" When the property was constructed in 1956 they clearly took the option that no plinth was required and to paint over the screw holes in the wood above the door holding the curtain rail. Nobody in the many times it's been decorated since has seen a need to alter that perfectly acceptable option and fill them in, indeed probably nobody has given it any consideration, other than you. "Proper recycling bins need to be put on shelving near shed" You say 'proper' recycling bins need to be put in the recycling area. Please address your complaint to Cornwall C.C. who I'm sure will be pleased to hear your 'proper' alternative to what they provide to the county's households. These same containers are also used in many other parts of the country. It is hard to see how the decorating options exercised above doorways and the councils choice of recycling containers can impact on your holiday. It's a sad reflection on your stay that of all the lovely things either provided or available and often written about by other guests, that these are the two abiding memories that you hold of your holiday, and you should choose to write of alternatives you would use. Worse still that your low review score should impact on the other highscores, giving the wrong impression to potential guests who would like a better balanced overview of this lovely holiday home. • "The shared outdoor areas were a bit of a surprise!"

But once we worked out how to close our area if we wanted, it was a great arrangement! Our dogs loved playing with those from the other apartments, and the owners got together too, we didn’t expect to make new friends. The apartment itself was organised, clean, warm and comfortable. Well positioned for all our needs…the friendly shop, pubs, cafe, etc. So many lovely walks, we shall just have to return, especially for that fantastic view!

Dear Jeanette, I'm so glad you loved it and feel you have to return. Just for clarity for anyone reading the review I should point out that while there are shared areas in the extensive grounds like seating areas and the beach shacks, there are also your private areas. You can enclose your balcony area and the patio, BBQ, lounger area and outdoor dining area are all private to you. Mark Property Owner

  • "The property's location is perfect, overlooking the sea , with easy access to the beach."

You can hear the sea, you can sit on the balcony or in in the beach shacks. It was so clean and Mark's friend showed us around . There are instructions in a wallet in the property of everything you need to know. I didn't need to contact Mark at all. There's plenty of storage and it was warm . The welcome pack with goodies was appreciated! There is a shop, pub and restaurant close by, very close so if you didn't want to drive it's perfect. I visited Looe, Polperro, kingsand and Seaton and did a drive along the coast. Spectacular views! You can walk to Seaton along the beach and also to Looe. It was everything I wanted for my break. Lovely cottage, overlooking the sea, clean, warm close to shop and pub able to walk along the beach and in a lovely part of the country. The owner kept in touch with me before and after my stay and I had a contact number should I have needed it. Perfect holiday. Thank you Mark.
