MASHAM

Ripon 9 miles.

The historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday market has recently been joined by a popular Saturday market. There are lots of walks around the area, including a recently reopened 10 mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best walks in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known perhaps as the home to the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons.

Lovely cottage with a welcome bottle of wine, much appreciated! Plenty of walks from the door. Masham offers a very good selection of food shops no need to take a big shop with you.

The whole holiday was fantastic, Dairy Cottage was wonderful so to is Masham. I would recommend it to any one. Everyone made us so welcome in and around Masham it was a real home from home. The area is ideal for exploring this beautiful part of the country. We cant wait to go back and are already planning our return.

Dairy Cottage is ideally situated in a lovely peaceful market town and just a few minutes walk from the shops and pubs. It is located on the outskirts of the Dales and not far from the Yorkshire Moors - so ideal to go out & about. The cottage is very homely and has everything you could possibly need plus more! The kitchen is particularly well equipped and had a lot more than we could imagine. The cottage is very well decorated throughout and we had a thoroughly enjoyable week.

A real home from home - only tidier! Very convenient for shops, pubs and buses. Recommend the white bear for excellent meals/service and Ureddle Glass for presents you won't want to give away.
