BARNARD CASTLE

The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman ford which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Known affectionately as 'Barney' by residents and visitors alike, the town boasts cobble streets, yards and back lanes which were first laid out in the 12th century. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep with The Pennine and Teesdale Ways, the River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.

French windows in the sitting room and double bedroom take advantage of the fabulous views over lovely countryside and the river Tees, which can be seen from every window in the property. A superb place to relax; enjoy the tranquillity, play golf, take a lovely walk or visit the many attractions of the area.

Two bedrooms: 1 x double, 1 x twin with en-suite (shower, basin & WC). House bathroom with bath, washbasin & WC. Well equipped, spacious kitchen with dining area. Light and airy beamed sitting room with open fire and lovely views onto the surrounding countryside.

Gas cooker, microwave, fridge (no icebox), washer/dryer, colour TV, video etc. All fuel, power and initial supply of fuel for open fire inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Secure off road parking for 2 cars. Garden with lawn and patio, which opens onto the surrounding fields. Sorry, no smoking and no pets. Shop 5 miles, pub 20 minutes walk (5 mins drive).
