PORTHMADOG

Harlech 5 miles; Caernarfon 19 miles.

The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog lies on the Glaslyn Estuary and enjoys a stunning setting. The gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, Porthmadog is full of individual shops and restaurants, and home to the Ffestiniog Railway, where you can travel by steam through spectacular Snowdonia scenery, to Blaenau Ffestiniog. The pretty village of Borth Y Gest, with its cliffs and coves, is a short walk or drive from the town. The well known and unique Italienate village of Portmeirion is just down the coast. Situated on a rugged cliff top on its own private peninsula, Portmeirion, famous as the location of the TV show The Prisoner and the final episode of Cold Feet, is surrounded by miles of sandy beaches and woodlands. The area also boasts castles at Criccieth and Harlech, and superb unspoilt beaches such as Black Rock Sands, where the sands stretch as far as the eye can see. An ideal location for the attractions of Snowdonia and the The Lleyn Peninsula.

Second visit to this lovely property and it did not disappoint. A calm and peaceful relaxing break with enough birdsong from the lovely grounds to satisfy Bill Oddie! The cottage was just as we remembered it, very cosy and neat with a lovely atmosphere and close to the lovely coastline and mountains to explore. Highly recommended, will definitely come again.

This was a holiday where we required peace and quiet after a long xmas and it came up to expectations. Excellent cottage set in a beautiful area. Would recommend to any romantic loving couple who want to escape. David Pharro and Grazyna Kaminska.

The cottage was situated in a very secluded spot on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park and was ideal for a peaceful break; yet amenities such as shops, restaurants and pubs etc were only 3 or 4 miles away.

Very nice rural location, peaceful and relaxing. The cottage was small but very comfortable and all that was needed was provided. The owner was very pleasant and helpful but we were left alone and to our own devices whilst we were there, which was great.

Fantastic location, real sense of being away from it all, while maintaining accessibility to major attractions. Beautiful property, well furnished and maintained; very friendly and helpful owners, with great surrounding lands.

The location of the property was ideal for Snowdonia and I loved the property itself - very cosy and well furnished. The underfloor heating was much appreciated.
