KIRKBYMOORSIDE

Pickering 6 miles; Helmsley 5 miles.

The attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It's a charming place with a slightly 'old fashioned feel' and visitors will find plenty to keep them occupied in the many shops, tearooms, pubs and restaurants. There is even an 18 hole course for golf enthusiasts. The excellent walking and magnificent scenery of the National Park are close by, as are the picturesque villages of Hutton le Hole and Lastingham. Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a 'must do' day out for all visitors to the area. Both the City of York and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

LOWHAGG FARM COTTAGES

Kirkbymoorside 1.5 miles; Helmsley 5 miles. Low Hagg Farm is situated in a tranquil position in open countryside, just 1.5 miles from the lovely old market town of Kirkbymoorside. The sympathetic conversion of old stone farm buildings has resulted in four holiday cottages of great character and comfort. Situated around a courtyard, the properties exude quality with exposed stonework, oak flooring and timber beams complemented by modern 'shaker' style kitchens and underfloor heating. One property has been designed for wheelchair access and two cottages offer all ground floor accommodation - which may be suitable for elderly or assisted disabled holidaymakers - please phone for further information. Meanwhile the children's activity area and wonderful rural aspect ensure that this is the ideal location for the whole family to enjoy a break. Perfect for those wanting to 'get away from it all', but with easy access to the shops, pubs and restaurants of the area. Note: The properties can be booked together to accommodate larger groups.

Idyllic location overlooking open countryside but also very close to local amenities. Ideally located for wide range of local attractions. Plenty of space for our toddler to run round.

Our week-end break was excellent. The accommodation was perfect, especially on a cold, wet winters day. It was very warm and cosy. Everybody loved it, the grandparents, children and the dog, what more could you wish for!!!

Rural setting. Lots of oak beams etc. Well appointed. Log fire and underfloor heating. Especially liked the shower and abundant supply of hot water, just perfect for 4 weary wet cyclists.

My twin daughters aged 6 1/2 years old loved the independence and freedom and enjoyed every moment, especially the garden area and all in complete safety. A really fantastic place to stay and we would love to come again. Enjoyed by children, mum and grandparents.

The cottage was lovely and clean, the real fire made it feel very homely. The surroundings were lovely for walks and the cottage was a great base for day trips to the Moors and Whitby. It was a great way to see in the new year with friends.
